This sequence of performances follows the same pattern as last season when we won 9 games on the run followed by a series of poor shows. Our 1st team is good, but the back up players are not so good. When the 1st teamers get tired or injured then the replacements are a real step down. The B team has got some promising youngsters such as Mogensen, Bidstrup, Maghoma, Haygarth and Gilbert, but they are some way off first team standard atm. We'll need to be patient and give the B teamers a chance to bridge the gap. We are currently struggling to perform consistently well over the 46 game season which in the circumstances is hardly surprising.

Will you please give it a rest - you were not saying this during the transfer window so stop rewriting history to suit your agenda.
They were, I think they have a script that just posts the same thing over and over and over again in every thread

Hard to criticise Thomas as he has been our most successful manager post 1945. However IMO he shares a limitation with Warburton. He persists with a one dimensional approach and if it doesn't work he tries to make it work. Making plan A work is plan B. Teams aren't going to let us play our game. We need players who can face up to that if we are going to get back on track.

Why are people having a go at Thomas, we didnt invest why, that is the question I would like to know.
He picks the teams, dictates the style of play, and delivers the motivational speeches, I don’t think he is the man to take us up he has learnt nothing from these games where the opponent has used the high press, and he will not drop poorly performing players

I agree we should have strengthen but easy to forget that we have 3 central midfielders on the payroll in Baptiste, Marcondes and Norrgaard... all injured but stil part of the wage bill. When football finances are really challenged probably not easy to being in 2 or 3 more.
Swansea done it, and didnt have 53 mil
Brexit meant we had no choice

To be fair I'd of taken top 6 at the start of the season.. plus it's still possible to reach the top 2.. just cant really afford to drop many more points!

Anyone who thinks Toney should stop backing and battling with CBs has seen the answer. Ball goes up and comes straight back at us. So yes when your back Toney keep battling with CBs.
Forss game isn't same as Toney, runs in behind the back line more like him.

He was calling for 2 players and we got one if them in Reid but now it will probably turn into needing 5 or 6...

Teams have been pressing us all season. When on our game we cope, when not we dont

That was beyond poor. What has happened to our Brentford of a little while back?

We’ve no divine right to win games but I get a sense that too many in our squad expect to be able to turn up and the opposition will let us play and show our undoubted ability with the result following by right.

That needs to be addressed - this is the Championship!!! Teams are setting up to make life difficult for us, closing us down quickly, tactical fouls etc. but we have not done enough of that the opposite way round the last few games.

Hope Rico is ok. Our club doesn’t get too much wrong these days but I was left scratching my head when Thompson went out on loan and no proven cover was signed.

Agree. Raya at fault for second goal but had he had Toney to kick long to, I’m sure he would have done.

Coventry were in the bottom 3 before todays game. Will be interesting to see what TF comes up with today ?

Press Brentford. Brentford lose.

Let’s hope we turn this around in the next game. I’m logging off. Enjoy your weekends lads.
We have to learn how to counteract it.

Dismal. I think we've got a few weeks of this if Henry's going to be out and we need not only to pull ourselves up but also to reshape to deal with having a much flatter back 4 of Dalsgaard Reid Pinnock MBS and probably something looking more like 451 all while having a game every three days. A real test of manager and team. They'll have to fight to become hard to score against again before anything else.

It’s just odd that since we stopped taking the knee we’ve lost.

Always odd that one thing like that changes and we immediately go on a losing run, where we’ve looked like a balloon that was flying high, and suddenly all the air has gone out of it.
If you were superstitious , you might read something into it.

I don’t think we ever won a second ball in the middle, no accurate passing, and always under pressure passing out from the back.

Anyway, we will regroup, and let’s hope we’ve put the bad week behind us early, rather than leaving it to the last week of the season as per last year!

We can no longer recruit from European market
Firstly, that’s not true.

And secondly, Raya, Pinnock, Rico, Pontus, JDS, Fosu and Toney all came from the European market, did they?

I was a staunch remainer but to try and blame our hubris on Brexit is pathetic

Never mind we are still second

That was a f*****g shambles.

Disgusting performance. None of them deserve praise or put in a decent showing.

Not only a shambles but totally inept by players and management . I allowed myself to hope believe and dream but when the chips are down Brentford let you down.

9 points thrown away in 3 games, and if Bournemouth win today we are still 5 points better off than them in 6th place, there is hope yet!!!

We play the same number and frequency of games as every other team. Fatigue is not an excuse.

Simply not true.
From the Guardian -
It is likely, though, that clubs in the EFL will feel an effect and particularly those in the Championship, such as Brentford or Norwich City, who have built models around acquiring talented players from obscure places

There's a points system. Talented but relatively unknown players especially from smaller leagues will have problems getting employment here.

Didn't see the last 3 defeats coming. I knew we would face a challenge when the unbeaten run came to an end and over the years we have been streaky but to get and deserve 0 points from relatively promising games like these is a worry. Long way to go and we simply have to outpoint Watford and Swansea over the next 15 to go up. I hate Saturdays when we lose!

I'm normally loath to criticise Thomas Frank, but what possessed him on a day when our main source of goals was unavailable to rest three key players - DaSilva, Dalsgaard and Fosu, all of whom can be relied on to find the net from time to time? Where was our midfield? What we put out was virtually a reserve team.

Only 14 points now between us and 7th. I originally intended that remark to be humourous. Now I'm not so sure.

I will remain calm. However, I never want to see a performance like that again.

Truly awful. Possibly the worst performance under TF?

The squad is not strong enough to rotate the way TF seems to like to do. Why were Dasilva and Fossu left on the bench for so long? TF should play his strongest team from the start.
Too many back passes (common theme recently) and lack of quality touches today.
