As we now seem to be regularly plunging new depths, how about we devote a thread as to how low we have fallen. Each time we hit a new low, we can post about it on this thread. Not neccesarily related to league position alone, other factors should also be considered.

As far as I can tell last night was a new low for Brentford (in my 29 years as a supporter)

  • 4th Division
  • A London derby with Attendance of 3662 (& perhaps sub 3000 actually in the ground)
  • Trailling deservedly 3-0 at home to what is essentially a non league side
  • Falling to 16th in the table, below Daggenham, Morcambe, Accrington Stanley & Barnet
  • 3rd home defeat in a row, conceding 9 in the process.
  • With Bees United at the helm

Oh well, at least you don't have mates that have secret cameras filming Brentford fans which result in them getting banned from matches. :fishing:

Yes. It is the new low for a whole generation and more

I would say we are on 15% goodness. Unfortunately that leaves scope for it to get worse

I've had a long hard think about this and have come to the conculsion that you are indeed a bit of a tit. Change the record - that had nothing to do with me.

We were so bad, I was almost disappointed when we scored. I was thinking a good 4-0, 5-0 score was what we deserved. And I'm glad Moore scored against us.

I've not got the rope out yet.

I'd say it was the lowest point since the late 60s. On the pitch we were pretty awful immediately before Bill Dodgin came in 1976 (?), but I didn't feel the same sense of financial despair at that point.

Crowd is bound to fall even lower for the Rotherham game: it's on a Friday night, they will presumably bring even less than D+R, and the chants of "£18, you're having a laugh" suggest that some of last night's attendance won't be back for a while

We didnt lose 10-0
We lost 3-2
We hit the bar twice in the first half.....I could have been a different game if we had sneaked one in, a few inches lower....
Admittedly we could have been 3-0 down at half time, but we werent, and the penalty Thorpe conceeded just after the break was a killer...

Our home form is very poor, agreed, but if we can perform at Hereford, like we did against Chester, we will get 3 points.

That is probably because the game, not money, was foremost in everyone's mind then.
Don't be fooled by the clubs current plight.
We have always had financial issues at GP (admittedly not as desperate as now although pro rata 1967 was touch and go) and if you talk to fans from the 60's and 70's the club has always been pretty poorly managed and run.
The vast majority of these "older supporters" are at the stage now where they have seen everything that is bad about BFC (with the odd carrot dangled to appease) over the years and have decided to call it a day.
I have to say that if that doesn't set the alarm bells ringing at GP Towers, and action is not taken to halt this slump towards non-league oblivion, we should all pack it in and do something else.
If the club are relying on a new wave, or new age, of supporters, then they are misguided in such judgement.
I was always taught that you look after your bread and butter punters first and the high rollers second.
Along with the much maligned MoriBee, I have seen this coming for a while now and it is time that the real supporters of this club DEMANDED change or forced the hand of the current lunatics which have taken over and ruined our asylum.
I wont pull any punches anymore and I feel an action group to rid us of these tossers should be set up!

We want our club back!

When we felt welcomed!

When was that? You pay some money to a grumpy man in a turnstile, you walk inside, watch some rubbish football and leave. When has it been different? I'm not as old as some mind.

Sorry, but I find your endless one-eyed optimism a bit aggravating. I commend you for being able to keep it up - but what's it gonna take for you to actually say sometime "OK, that's not great"???

I'm fed up, like a lot of people. But, like most of those people, whatever I say when p***ed off, I will always be a Brentford fan (even if they cease to exist), will always come to matches even when I can;t afford, will always back the team on the pitch when I'm in the ground it etc. etc. But I don't have to do it whistling a happy tune and thanking god for an overpriced burger.

(PS - Sorry, that's not intended as a personal attack really, just what some of the "head in the sand" posters inspire in me... :( )

Dont worry, be rest assured I find the constant pessimists just as irritating :sorted:

FFS we have played 9 league games.
We have 37 to go !
Over 4/5s of the season.....!!

I am reacting to the degree of panic, from fans who dont even attend.
Count up the number of posts that include the words..."...this is why I gave up ages ago", or "...I used to go to every game, but now I have quit...."

I am sure everyone will agree, this is no time to go quiet, as fans.
We should back the team.
Stand up for ourselves, against whatever percieved injustices we feel are happening at board level....through Bees United (the supporters trust that have an input into running the club)

...ensure its the opposition who feel the heat on match days..not the Bees

Fair enough mate! Like I said, nothing personal... :) And I agree about it not being a time to go quiet or not attend.

I am now punch drunk to how bad our team is and how sad our clubs position is in football generally.

Luckily I have some superb memories of my youth at BFC and the buzz of big games was superb. But my kids have no chance of such good times and it is a full time job now drumming into them the BEES are our team and not a big club like Arse or Chelski.

I am hoping I stay loyal and not become a gloryhunter, but as present I am struggling after 30years of same old same old.

I also don`t feel upset or angry, which is strange.

We are crap but so what!

Well said that man, I prefer to laugh in the face of crap football put my rose tinted spectacles on and whistle a happy tune part of being a Bees fan. Doesn't mean I'm oblivious to the shortcomings on and off the pitch but like smiffy it's a time to get behind the players, they do at least show some heart .

Fair play to those who have a whinge on here and still back the team on the pitch that's what the GPG is all about I suppose. IMHO people are over reacting to the poor results and performances in the last few games. Give the players TB and AS a chance.

Back in the 60's we always knew that however bad Brentford were Crewe and Hartlepool were a hundred times worse. Now, I wonder what's happened to those two.

smiffybee is talking crap. We are sh*t and have been so since March 2006 I am afraid. We are badly run and time and time and time again poor decisions are made and loyal fans are mistreated. This is a fact no matter what anyone else says!!

However, at the end of the day its Brentford and we all love it and **** all is ever going to change and we will just carry on regardless :computer:

If you put a list together of all the scandals and bad treatment stories listed on the GPG it would make some seriously funny reading!

No you cant be very old..............and I mean this nicely but its a nonsense question you asked Spider Bee..........there waa a time when we were welcome and not discriminated against or barked at by stewards. You really dont have much imagination sorry:confused: not personal mate but there is something in loving this club which you must have missed out on and thats a shame but not your fault, just dont sound cynical please to old campaigners ok!:nono:
