Lol, let's hope it doesn't get rained off this year. At least Trandy is not about to lead me astray this time.

Me and Jr. will be at th' Oval tomorrow for Kent; I'll be there on Sat for Essex, then I'm hoping the WC semi-final will be on in the bar for Sussex on 4th. Middlesex on 7th clashes with something but I might be able to sneak away.

We could talk about the county championship if you really want to (in a different thread if necessary) :D .

I was at the game tonight as some of you may or may not have guessed.

Surrey were on the top from the start, but the real difference was in the bowling. Middlesex gifted Surrey one or two full tosses an over which in a twenty over slog is inexcuasable. Brown and Benning in particular destroyed them for this and as a result Middlesex were always facing an uphill task.

The first two balls of their innings produced rash shots and as a result they were 0-2. Cameron and Styris put in a decentish peformance with the bat but Middlesex will have to improve greatly if they are to do anything in this form of the game.

Surrey looked good again and in my opinion should be pushing for another finals day apperance :sorted:

do you mean Eion Morgan and Styris??

Yes I do sorry a bit tired at the moment. I take it Morgan is Irish or of Irish background then? First i'd heard or seen of him but looked a very good prospect (providing of course he is indeed a young player).

I suppose we could but we'd have to have one thread for each division. :sorted:

Ed Smith (or should that be Ed The Duck) :mad1: pi$$ off and write another book will you?

Emburey got a lot of stick from home fans after the game, don't know how long he's got left.

Louw and Ali aren't good enough.

Morgan's a 19 year old from Dublin, looking like a goodun.

Well played Surrey, hope to see some of you at the Oval :sorted:

Decent game tonight... Nice to see a Jock leading Surrey to victory. ;) :sorted: :fishing:

As reported elsewhere, Middlesex faced an uphill battle after losing two wickets to the first two balls, but their middle order made a decent fight of it.

Nice of them to finish enough to allow us to watch the 2nd half of Spain v France... :sorted:

Ed Smith and Chad Keegan were the 'zero heroes', both out before I returned from my inbetween-innings beer! Nick Compton followed with another duck later. But Morgan hit some lovely boundaries and looks promising.
Funniest moment though was possibly one of the wildest balls I've ever seen bowled, by a Surrey geezer, possibly Salisbury? which flew a good few feet over the wicket.

If I get to the Oval this evening, I shall be wearing a cream pork-pie hat and have one or two 10-year-olds in tow.

Also, got an email today from MCCC with a picture of a car windscreen smashed by an Ali Brown belter which flew over the stands. MCCC agreed to pay for the damage!
