Did nothing wrong in the game.
Seems like a decent bloke.
Raya suits our model better.
I wish Dan all the best.
Aye. In some respects I think their styles are quite similar, relying on great agility and reflexes, always looking to spring an attack when they get the ball.
Where I think Raya is superior is (i) consistency and (ii) with his ball at this feet (which may be what you were getting at with suiting our model better)

David’s distribution all round is superior, with his feet and hands.

Bentley at his best was a great shot stopper, an imposing presence in the box, had a monster throw and was okay (but not brilliant) with his feet.

His last season or so with us, we had a new GK coach with new ideas, he was dealing with personal issues, had a shoulder injury, and had a really good number 2 pushing for his spot. In the end he started making mistakes, lost some confidence and became a shell of his best.

His move to Bristol City promised much. A chance to recapture that confidence. At times he has, and was brilliant at GP last season IIRC. But he’s not been able to recapture the very best of his form on a consistent basis. A shame for him.

He will always be compared with Raya because that’s who we replaced him with, which maybe slightly unfair. Simple fact is whilst DR is not perfect, he is a better GK than Bentley.

Rumoured to be being watched by Southampton scouts after impressive performances at Bristol City. Maybe they are suddenly running short of England-qualified goalkeepers.
Max O'Leary apparently a well thought of younger (24) keeper on the books so BC might even be willing to see him move on witout signing a replacement.
A sell on-fee would be lovely, thanks.

Didn't do well enough dealing with either cross for the goals against Rotherham on Saturday.

Seems to be Marmite with their fans.
