Sounds as though Arsenal have made a move for Runnarsson; reportedly having a medical today. Let's get behind Raya again.
Hopefully most of us were still "behind" Raya while all of this has been going on anyway.......As there was absolutely nothing coming from the player to suggest we shouldn't have been......

It depends whether he has been injured, or "injured" as a smokescreen, whilst all this speculation and possible rumoured acting up and maybe agitating for a transfer has happened. Of course we do not know and maybe we never will - I'll certainly be fully behind him as long as plays for the cub.

Sky just reporting that we have said Raya is not for sale (again) - fully expect to see him play on Saturday now that he is back in full training.

Is he in training or full training? If he has had a knee injury he might not be ready for Saturday.
He's in "training". TF said last week that he would be training with the GK coach on Monday. And that's what happened.

He went on to say that he hopes that he is available for selection for the Huddersfield game - so you are correct - he might not be ready for Saturday.

That's been the rumour for the past few days. He was a target for us with whatshisname was here as GK coach.

Have they both gone yet.....You Reds...
Have they both gone yet.....
1. No
2. It doesn't look like Raya will
3. It wasn't that great an input the first time, but definitely not the second time! Feel free to say something if you've got something to say - if not though, please do refrain :)

A journalist at The Athletic is suggesting that Arsenal might sign Raya and then loan him back to us for 12 months. However watching the video it is in a Q&A format and framed as a suggestion from the journalist rather than anything being pursued by Arsenal, who we all know have moved on.

Would appear to be a very bizarre move by Arsenal which would leave them having spent 15m and still not having a second choice keeper!

Especially as the cost rumour for the alternative is 1.6M€!

A reliable (not clicbait - noo adverts ) Arsenal website is saying they are on Raya's case :-(
Could the bloke they are/were after from Iceland come to us ?!?!?
We were on his case before we signed Raya.... hmmmm. No idea.

I'd still be very surprised if Raya went. We are Brentford and if we don't have to do the business, we won't do the business.

We were after the Icelandic guy a year ago apparently and now Arsenal are after him. The common link is the goalkeeping coach who now works for Arsenal. No I don't think he will come here now that that ship has sailed.

Presumably the "story" is back just because Arsenal have let their keeper go to Villa and it plugs a news gap. "Who might Arsenal sign next?"

Good point though Tarky was not signed under the current regime which seems alot cannier about dickheads. Is Raya really one? I refer you to the team photo when Raya was presented with his golden glove award. Looks like a respected member of the lads to me?

This conjures up an image of Phil Giles realising it's David Raya's birthday and scrambling to the phone to get a message to Admin to hold the 'Happy Birthday' tweet.

If the money was right and loaned back for the season would take it as a good as he’s been l don’t think he’s tall enough for PL and we would need better.

I agree his lack of height may become an issue if he's in the PL. I don't think anyone is going to pay us 10M for him ?

I believe it was, yes or at least confirmed by ITK
Believe there were competing views on this. The definitive answer was that no bid was received and we would not engage in that conversation. Have to ask why AFC would spend £10m on a back-up keeper considering that they are buying one worth £1m.

Yes it did occur to me that it was weird for them to offer £10m then go for Runarsson at £1.5m. Still it should end all Arsenal related speculation...
