Presumably a big pay rise and prem club is his ambition. I'd be hacked off if the club blocked it .lts a short career.
Don't judge others by your own standards 😄

How old was Shilton when he retired?

You know l'm right😆The filthy lucre wins.Shilton was a different class and could keep going.lts a short career.Put it this way. I love Brentford fc. If I played for them and SC Napoli wanted me with a big pay rise, l'd be off quicker than a rat out of a drainpipe.🐀

Who said he was "a disgruntled player"?
I'd be amazed if he was 'gruntled' as neither Arsenal nor Brentford have denied that there has been an approach however casual and probably requested to be off the record.

The Bees United match report from Birmingham and by a BFC director who was at the game and presumably had the latest situation gossip told us that Daniels was in for the 'injured' Raya........ if the deliberate inverted commas insert wasn't a wink wink from a BFC director that Raya was not 'gruntled' then I don't know how else it could be interpreted.

Goalkeepers who keep fit and focused can fairly routinely keep going a lot longer than outfield players. I think their plateau comes later than outfield players and loss of pace isn’t an issue. Much of their role requires anticipation and decision-making and experience helps that.

I am not convinced selling Raya and then getting him back on loan. Raya will be an Arsenal player and will his mind be on it. Equally, one mistake and you can imagine the stick he will get from our fans. If a players leaves let them leave. I remember the case of Jack Clark when he signed from Leeds to Spurs and then subsequently loaned back. Not sure it was a successful loan move back. So I have my doubts on this

I'm expecting a Nigerian prince to get a mention soon... it's all a bit surreal.
exactly, when it says they have agreed person terms on a specific salary of 40k but then says something stupid like Brentford have not agreed a fee then you know none of it can be true.

You could say the same for every player who has ever been on loan in the history of the world but they are still very successful.

"They've had more than one bid rejected by #BrentfordFC." ❌

"The player would love to make a move to Arsenal."👍

"If they got Raya, Runarsson would be third choice."

@Alex_Crook says #AFC have had a bid turned down for Brentford's David Raya. 🔴 https://t.co/wCLcJ0ZxhX

Can't believe we'd reject 10 million. (We would) He hasn't featured (he’s injured) and if he was OK with staying he'd have had games (see above). So he wants out (says who?). No place for a disgruntled player(wtf?). Daniels is safe and will be fine (great back up but probably not a too 2 championship keeper). Sell him.

If we rejected 10 million.

What do you think we would be looking for Raya if somebody needs to meet brentford valuation of a "player who's not for sale"

On bench today to shut up the section of fans who still don't think he was ever injured
Daniels has done well............ But if hes benched is Raya fit enough?? If so should he start?

Is he on the bench to cover for Balcombe who i guess is isolating.

I would guess that is the case. Not fully fit but better then having no keeper on the bench.

Maybe Raya is the ONLY available option for the reasons you start. But only for an emergency,. 🤷‍♂️

Eh? Or the more plausible option that he isnt 100% fit?
Or that he's got the right hump and we haven't got another keeper for the bench. As someone else said, let's see where he is in the next game or two.

I'm getting sick of saying that he has been injured so I'm not going to bother again - believe what you want

Seemed cheery enough congratulating Daniels after the match.

Didn't Cliff during his halftime chat with Marky say Raya wasn't going anywhere as he is not for sale?

He clearly is so desperate to play for Brentford that he sat on the bench with a shattered knee to prove his loyalty...

Victor Valdes at Barca - he did alright didn’t he? He is 6’

Ikor Cassilas - he did alright too didn’t he? (At least in his early years) -he is just under 6’
From recollection both Ray Clemence and Peter Shilton were between 5’11” and 6’
They did pretty well!

We are struggling with the concept of forums and threads here.

This is the Raya transfer thread

Not the "Is Luke Daniels keeping the shirt ahead of Raya", or "Goalkeeper Selection for WBA". Please exercise some discipline. Thanks.

Sky Sports News have announced Arsenal have signed Runnarson on a four year contract.

Does that mean they have moved on from Reya?

Although daniels has done great so far i doubt we would have turned down many millions for raya to play him in the odd cup game
