There are reports on twitter that the development squad lost 10 (ten) - 1 at home to Bournemouth today. Really hope that is a mistake / wind up because unless there are serious mitigating factors, to lose by that margin at any level is disgraceful. Anyone know if it's true and what the story / facts are?

It was on Bournemouth FC's twitter as them winning 10-1. So was it an error??

Why would we play them in a friendly the midweek before we play them in the league.

If true, we must bear in mind it was effectively a BFC third team.
And probably our fourth choice 'keeper...

16 goals conceded in one day by two Brentford teams must be some kind of record! And we're still in the Cup!!!

Has anyone from BFC actually confirmed the 1-10 thrashing yet?

Yes mate, seen it. There's nothing on our site and until there is I wont believe it. I doubt that any team in the football league would beat our development squad by that amount. Our dev squads games start the 20th and Bournmouth are not in the group we play in.

Perhaps it was our under 8's against there under 21's?

I believe it was the same team that started at Daggers. So they are improving.

It was only a friendly and the team were made up of mostly youth team players, whereas Bournemouth were more under 21's....

I don't know the circumstances around the friendly but I fail to see what benefit our lads gain from playing a more senior side who will have far greater physicality and nous and thus hammering our young lads 10-1?

Seems like the Media communications dept. are operating a limited information policy, a change in direction from the promising route we were on

Is the Trialist family the modern equivalent of the Allen family I wonder?

Although a terrible scoreline, no need to get too upset.
I believe it was effectively our fifth choice goalkeeper, plus virtually a third team/ youth side and trialists up against far more experienced opponents.
A drubbing is a horrible experience, but some players learn a lot by testing themselves against older and seasoned opposition.
And, maybe, the coaching staff learnt a thing or two about our lads...
Having said that, I really hope it does not happen again.

Not been the best start to the season for the "Media Communications Dept", has it?

A very clever tactic to make Muff's senior team overconfident on sat.

At no level should any team be losing 10-1 against similar opposition. Bournemouth had a lot of young, and inexperienced players playing, this is worrying.

Give over.

There's a league match next week, judge it then.

I would stop worrying mate. It wasn't our dev squad and included many trialists. The lads coming through should be the very least of our and your worries some incredible talent in the various squads.

This is only your second post I see and you have already caught the GPG doom and gloom bug for which there is no known cure!!
