Do we need to change our attacking style during a game ?

Why do we persist in only attacking from the wings ,when the central area goes begging with either more shots on target or one twos with our pace and tricky players to either finish with a goal or penalty .

I must admit I'm not happy ( or any of the other dwarfs ) when a great attacking move ends up being blasted over the top of the stand or going for a throw-in. Our shots to shots on target ratio is poor (yes other teams are equally poor). Even in the warm ups before the game you have to have your wits about you on ER. Calm down and carry on.

Our goal difference is plus 26 one behind WBA and 2 in front of Leeds. Next best is plus 14, So our goal scoring our problem or too many high scoring draws?

Agree although when i said this on another thread it was met with "we've got the best defensive record in the league"
Anyone can see our defending since Christmas has been poor ... The defending at the far post for both the goals at Cardiff the latest examples of people not doing their jobs.

Mainly because teams put as many players as they can in and around the box to shut off opportunities centrally. That's why we try and work it wide. We do mix it up a lot though with both Benhrama and Mbuemo coming central from time to time. Ollie goes wide. Generally though when we work a position centrally there's a wall of defenders in the way and we can't get a shot away..

I think Matthew should be laying down the law with Thomas. Clearly he needs to ask his defence to concede fewer goals. He should then be asked to address his midfield and attack, demanding that they score more goals. Football's a simple game, complicated by people on the GPG. :no:

What really peeves me this season is the number of defeats by a single goal. I know that’s been good for GD,
but I’ve reached a point where I could suffer an occasional tonking if we then turned the next couple of games from
draws into wins.

Well, the only thing I would comment on, is that they are not too evenly spread out, (which I'm sure would be preferable) but come in clusters......eg: 7 v Luton, & 4 v Bristol City for a start...there may be others?

Oddly we have changed on occasions. Against QPR when they pressed high we played longer through the channels between two lumbering centre backs.
