Thanks for all the valid points but my question was after the game and to access the capacity would be after the whistle when outsiders were promised to be allowed in providing it wasn’t full which it obviously wasn’t as the photo proves ps do the stewards click number entering bar or guess work ??

JV was in the bar you should have approached him and left Ian Wright alone
Why are people from other stands being allowed to gain entry into the Dug Out bar. Surely that's what we've paid a premium for, for Dug Out our seats. To keep the Oiks from the North and West stands out?

Thanks for the update looks really busy ;out which proves it wasn’t that bust don’t you agree
Certainly not busy enough to close the doors if that’s what they’d done by the time you got there.

Oi you have them with you. Don't want them wandering around, next thing they will try to get in our bar up stairs

Because that’s what we were promised when we bought our North Stand season tickets. We’d be allowed in if there was room for us. I’ve been in twice and don’t think I’ve lowered the tone. I don’t smell. I have a bath every month, even when I don’t need one. 🤨

So if I'm in the West Stand do I have to leave the stadium and walk round the car park bit to then queue up to get into the Dug out bar ? Walked as far along the concourse as possible inside and it came to a dead end.

But I don't want the bar rammed like it used to be at GP. There should always be plenty of room for Dug Out members to move about and have a relaxed drink without hordes of other people spoiling the atmosphere. :sorted::sorted::wave::wave:

But it wasn’t ‘rammed’, was it?

I don't have a Dugout seat but if I did I'd certainly agree with you, tongue in cheek or not. If I'd paid the extra I wouldn't want it getting as busy as the Hive used to! AB's pic looks just about right, IMO.

As an aside, I assume keeping the bars open after the game in other parts of the ground will be daytime only as the shutters came straight down in the North Stand on Friday?

Quite right. As an old git in the norf stand I would feel insulted to be allowed into the Dug Out bar. Far more fun to sneak in univited.

That's over an hour after the game finished. If you want to wait until 11am to get in, when it's less busy, then I'm OK with that. Fill ya boots.

The weekend was made even better by Mayo's win.... :fishing:

Forget the dug out bar on the 11th September post Brighton; unless they're showing the All Ireland Final. If it is a 5pm throw in quick jog to the New Inn or Connolly's 🙂

That’s completely below the belt, Sheerwater! I suppose they’ve waited long enough for it, but getting beaten by a bunch of culchies is hard to take (apologies for racist-type language).

I’m confused too but from the other side, why would we want to spend time with the silent ones? Let them eat cake and we’ll make the atmosphere. 👍

As you’re coming from the West it’s worth trying Brentford station to park if you can get there early. Free on Saturdays and only £2 on Friday evening. I used to be able to get a space most games at GP if I got there by about 1, might be easier now (except for me giving it away on here!). I’ve also regularly parked at Topps Tiles on Ealing Road (v handy for the walk to N, S and W stands) without them ticketing but they might be more savvy about that now we’re PL.
Ealing Road all the way back to South Ealing is parking. Restrictions during week is one hour during the day to stop commuters. Or has that mow changed?

that dug out bar looks proper rubbish....a cross between an airport lounge and a particularly horrible hotel bar having a conference lol .........id rather not !!! you can keep it lol

It was actually a lot better than the photos make it look. The lighting was a little softer and it felt more like a bar/club set-up. I walked in from the South Stand during the lap of honour and had no trouble getting a drink. Just need to keep on winning so the lap of honours continue….😃

We left the North Stand about 20 minutes after full time and walked round to the Dug Out bar and got straight in no problem. Even managed to go out in to the stand for a bit and see Carragher and Neville chatting on Sky, oh and a miserable Arteta doing his post match rounds! Agree with others it is not the most atmospheric bar, a bit like one of those airport lounges you get access to with a fancy credit card (probably a significant crossover in clientele too :fishing: ), but you get served straight away. We managed 3 pints in an hour there with about 2 minutes of that spent at the bar, I imagine we would have spent at least 20 minutes waiting to get served elsewhere.

Mate, I’m of the mind we are Premier League on the pitch as was clear to see on Friday but we’re non league in many areas off it.
It’s been going on for years and many of us have become accustomed as “It’s Brentford innit” but that doesn’t mean it should be accepted or tolerated.
I have seen plenty of great stuff that reflects brilliantly on the club with the comms and PR (Woody goal celebration for example) but some of the processes and specifically the ticketing process is atrocious and in many cases a dreadful customer experience.
As I said before I trust JV is on it and addressing but it is a hell of a legacy he inherited by all accounts.

Fair enough. I will get off his back then ;)

Don’t worry your photo and name is on a black list some of us were asked to submit of people we don’t want in the elite area.
Poor old Ian Wright was having the worst night of his life and then Bill Benn went over to have a word, only good thing is another celebrity is now using Sonofabee consultancy services albeit I have a real job on my hands after Little Lord Felthamboy gave him his expert opinion

I don't get the lanyards either, they might be a temporary thing as for access to some seats one has to leave the dugout because of the red zone. On the way back in they can decide who can come in by whom is wearing a lanyard. However I was still asked to show my ticket - so what's the point of the lanyard exactly?
I think it’s only some of you that get such checks, that designer violence Miami vice look with Sonny Crockett slick back hair means you are always going to be challenged

Crikey! It looked really quiet over there. The atmos school report for the south stand says ‘must try harder’.

So 1 complaint about not being let in, but evidence shows that no-one else has had an issue. And, in fact, loads of people have been admitted without issue.

Have I summarised that correctly?

How have we got to almost 100 posts on something that's a non-issue? (I admit it's mainly off-topic.)

Not quite, you didn’t mention the ones who don’t fancy an invite to a silent disco.

Maybe the problem was they wouldn’t listen to the argument that a lifetime membership of Lifeline should be sufficient proof for entry even if the castle badge on the card had been neatly coloured in.
