When we purchased season ticket we were told that entry would be given access to this facility after the game which is not being given as people are told by the stewards that once you leave the ground re entry was not allowed .can someone please tell me that there has been a change in procedure and we haven’t been told .friends are coming from north stand and can’t get entry ????
Same happened to us. Door woman was very forthcoming in telling us no re-entry after exiting. We showed our season tickets, said we’ve left the north stand and are going to the bar.
She repeated no entry after exiting.
Couldn’t be arsed with it so got back in the crowds to spend 10 minutes getting to express tavern who were very busy and very welcoming in getting us in and to an area we couldn’t see.

It’s amazing what a suit & a security tag does to some people for power.

More less of revenue for the club. I wonder how many were turned away

What not just assume that they don't know (given it is the first fixture etc.) and ask for a supervisor? Perhaps your sartorial skills weren't up to scratch. Wear you wearing jeans and training by chance?

We went round as was told was doable.
It was busy in the area, wasnt wasting my time making an argument of it with her. She was clear enough and sure of what she was saying.

First fixture, yes, but how would they not know.

What we were wearing wasnt mentioned.
Just told stern enough no re-entry after exit. Then repeated word for word when explained. There wasnt to be a compromise.

I had a ticket in the dug out for valencia wore trainers, got in no problem. One of us might have had shorts on

You don't have to make an argument. Just politely has to speak to her supervisor because "we have been assured that access to this area is permitted after the match to season ticket holders". If see refuses then look around for someone more reasonable to speak too - there will be plenty around that area.

The bit about trainers and denim was a little joke.

OK. That's up to you of course. But don't be deterred from asking next time. Perhaps someone else.

Serious question. Why is there no food or drink available to visiting fans in the stadium - or maybe there is ?
Is it a Premier League / police / BFC directive ?

My ticket was in the dugout tonight.

I left straight after the final whistle, upon leaving, 2 Bees fans had left a different stand to join some in dugout bar which was pretty empty but still open.
2 stewards were refusing them entry saying the same as they did me the other week, “ no readmission after the game “.
One of the fellas was clearly getting peed off explaining to them that he is not looking for readmission, that he has left a different stand to join people in the dugout.
One steward replied says who.
He said the club.
I don’t know how it concluded.

Yeah this was also covered in my discussion with Alan Walsh.

To be absolutely fair to Alan he wants this to work, and whilst I was talking with him he was "sorting out" people to get into the dugout.

The issue is, from what I can tell, is that no-one knows outside the stadium knows if the dug-out has capacity or not. They can't "count out and in" at the exit from the dugout as everyone else from the stand comes out that same entrance.

I think this needs to be added to the "snagging list" @hobbsy

Our little group was blatantly lied to by an ultra aggressive, surly, rude etc female blue high vized steward. She very forcefully informed us that the Dugout was shut after the game and we would not under any circumstances be getting anywhere the bar now or at any other time.If a bloke had spoken to me like she did this situation could have totally gone wrong,is was feckin’ fuming.Luckily my woman pulled me away…Not prepared to let it go we spoke to two young chaps(suited and booted)who were standing too the left of the Dugout entrance,lo and behold within two minutes we we’re supping a cold one in a near deserted Dugout bar with a bar that was very much open!!!!The two young fellas were an absolute credit to themselves and the club unlike the lady steward who was appalling, the look on her face as we were ushered up the stairs was an absolute treat.

Also tried to get in there last night was told “the bars not open for this game” guy was really polite to be fair but this was obviously a lie,if the club want people to drink in the ground before and after the game this needs to be addressed and needs to be as swelled and as pain free as poss at the moment it’s a right fcuk about

Could very well have been me.

Yep, we tried to gain access after the game having exited from the west stand (and deciding to wait until the Dugout for a drink). No dice, told a combination of it not being open/being full/no readmission…

Stewards were all polite, with the exception of an over-zealous, tired and clearly overwhelmed old boy on the south/dugout door.

Exactly as has been stated above, if the club want this to be a revenue stream, and to become part of the ritual of fans to stay around post-match it has to be managed better & not a 50/50 ‘chance’ of access, depending on what steward you get.

As it was, we headed to the Express and bought two rounds in there.

A case of the club losing revenue, thought these lounges were built for extra revenue. I have my son coming against Brighton, he is in the north stand, he is not familiar with the town and i arranged that we meet in the dugout after the game. I hope that the stewards at the club do not fob him off.

All these problems with stewards around the ground are obviously staff training related, Some stewards, not all, seem to be singing from a different Hymn sheet, They need pulling in en mass to a proper contructive meeting to iron out these problems and get some consistency, it's not rocket science, we know its all still new at the BCS, but it needs to be nipped in the bud asap, Whoever is in charge of staff training needs to step up to the plate to correct it all.

All it needs is for someone to say “chaps can you just give us a couple of minutes to see how much room we’ve got”.Not rocket science really.
Yes, let all those who are exiting the stadium leave. Say to people who want to get in, you will need to wait 10 minutes. Assess the situation and then let people in if room.

thought the whole idea of the dugout bar was to keep the riff raff out so they are only doing their jobs.
It’s been said on here before, Bill, but those of us who opted for the North Stand were told, when buying, that we would have post-match access to the Dugout bar if there was sufficient space.

Yes mate I posted in jest 😃that’s what I understood and it looks like this plan hasn’t reached all of the stewards. As a lot of us have chosen to be at different parts of the ground it’s a great place to meet up after the game and also good for the clubs coffers

I had the same problem last night, coming from the West Stand, was told by the female steward that the bar was closing tonight virtually straight after the game so no admission was allowed, but it would be staying open after league games. It all didn’t seem to ring true to be honest but whatever the reason we were not allowed in.

Yep that’s the painful thing, we ended up in the express tavern, surely we would be better off putting the money into the club? I could slightly understand some teething issues during the home friendlies, but that’s exactly what they were for, not just the players but us and the stewards and match day staff to get up to speed for when the season starts. But it’s getting to the point where these excuses of non communication to stewards and not allowing us in to the bar ( where capacity allows) is becoming a joke really. It’s extremely poor customer service and relations imo.

Would think that the club would want to maximise its business re drink and food. That’s why MB opted for a smaller capacity and more lounge space or have i got that wrong?

If only the club could devise some kind of ticket entry system for the dug out bar to solve this problem.

What could possibly go wrong?

Was the lounge space not created for as many corporate seats as they could possibly squeeze in, after all thats where the big spenders/hospitality/revenue come into play, the rest of us have to put up with limited access/menu/drinks selection.

Although I was pleasantly surprised last night as I went upmarket in the Dug Out stand, nice padded seat, stools and tables, same food and drinks, with added samosas if you wish, Just had a good look round because I had already eaten and drank in the pub prior, On to the North Stand for the BHA game, then that's all stands done, Although I heard a few moans last night, mainly families with kids, that the staple footie fare of Burgers,Hot Dogs/Chips are no longer available, I know you can buy them outside the ground, but its not the same, and its lost revenue.

Me and my friends in the Dug out support diversity and inclusion, hence why it’s all Samosas and Morroccan Chick Pea Balti.
Burger and Chips was on the way out when Wimpy and Dine Away shut mate 😀😀😀

Sounds like the Stewards need a proper talking to.

The club must prefer us to be putting our cash over their bar then the Express etc??

I can understand people being asked to wait to gauge how many people are in there. But to lie and say it is shut is just **** and bang out of order.

Used to enjoy the chips at GP as a veggie. Felt last night that the catering can only get better .
