I literally didn't hear a single sound from them all game, but I was in the North Stand nearer the West, so maybe the sound didn't transmit that way very well...
Definitely could hear them in the South Stand. Only a small percentage of what Arsenal brought but they did their team proud. It was a tad embarrassing to hear them sing “ Premiership your having a laugh “. We’ve sung that enough times.

One question from me:
WTF has gone on with this thread??!!!

Started as a general pre-round 2 draw thread.
Morphed into a thread discussing the opponents when known/pre-match thread.
Then took on the mantle of the "in game" updates thread, before now ending up as a Match Reports thread!!!

Outrageous!!!!
Get a grip GPG FFS!!!
Surely must do better for the 3rd Round......

People who are not at the game need to start an updates thread.

And not one mention or update on the match day burger onions situation. What has happened to my club?!? I despair.

First post on here but been following for some time. As I now live too far away from West London to make having a season ticket viable - yesterday's game was my first chance to get tickets and be inside Lionel Road - seemed apt that after 50 years of supporting the club my first match in our premier league season was against a fourth division side.... I did a nostalgia walk from Brentford station past Griffin Park on the way, felt a bit melancholy (Princess Royal boarded up, Braemar Road stand like an old warehouse shed waiting demolition)- but by the time I got to Kew Bridge - the way we've moved closer into town in numbers, colonised the posh pubs and (despite there being some downsides of new fans) seeing all the families with exited kids in replica shirts all bodes well for the future of our club. The ground is, as you all said it was - great - felt at home straight away etc.

Reason I posted was that I can't work out what to take away from the game. I though the squad players would look much better than they did- get it now that the system didn't work - so maybe not as bad as they looked - but loved the way the core of the first team came on, took over, and completely bossed the game - could feel the confidence they brought with them - Premier League players setting about methodically dismantling a lesser team. Fantastic! First sighting for me of Frank the Tank in the flesh - instant love-affair - just took total charge. Likewise Ajer. I suspect, brilliant though he is, Pinnock not a natural captain - read somewhere he's quite quiet and softly spoken - Ajer looked like a leader from the moment he came on. So should I be celebrating how good our first string is, or fretting that the squads weaker than I thought? But can't even work that out. I was really hopeful about Roerslev thought he was a real prospect (although I have read some of your well-argued doubts) but he was taken apart by a (albeit pretty good) fourth division side's winger - so is he just not good enough or did the system make him look sh*t? Likewise with Thompson - who I'd assumed was on his way out of the club after the unsuccessful Swindon loan - but when the big boys came on he suddenly looked like a player - got behind the back line a lot and that cross for Mbeumo's goal was spot on. So is he good enough after all? Either way, there was a lovely moment after the goal when the rest of the team congratulated him - you could see it really mattered to him to do well and they knew it - is it just that he needs confidence in his own ability? Likewise I wondered what we learned about Bidstrup? - I was with most of you on here thinking he's going to be great - but he really couldn't boss the midfield at all - Onyeka had that under control in five minutes after coming on - just young and learning his trade? Thought Dervisoglu weaved about but didn't have any end product and still can't work out how Ghoddos fits in....
Too long a post I know - so hello everyone and thanks - the transfer threads are brilliant and by far the most accurate information available anywhere - I was glued all summer - keep up the good work.

I think we took fewer Bees to our last two EFL Trophy Finals even though the last one was just down the road at Wembley. Were there many more at the L1 Final against Yeovil? So to have comparable numbers against L2 opposition midweek in the EFL Cup 2nd round is a sign of the huge change in just a decade!
are you drunk squire ? ......weve never had less than 25k at wembley for any final ever and even the ones at cardiff were around 17k and 12k........lets keep it real out on the streets there eh innit bruv lol

Fair enough, just seemed like fewer because we were so often abject.
