Wasn’t there, so have only seen the highlights, but it’s not just the quality between the two teams, but the fitness too, Oldham players just didn’t track back or run

Tried the East Stand tonight (right at the back) rather than take my usual season seat. Great view and kind of nice to approach the stadium away from the masses via the Capital Interchange Way. It has a feeling that your sneaking into a game. I thought the Oldham crowd were phenomenal, as well as make the long trip down South, they sang and applauded their hearts out - some of their chants made you laugh but it was all good fun. I didn't see any malice from them to our side.

Read about their plight and its sad to see and I hope they get rid of their owner. They even clapped our team and TF as they went round

There was a lot of stewards and police in the second half near us as it got a bit boisterous. However I saw silly little adolescent boys from our side just goading the Oldham crowd on. Not season ticket holders but just kids who were lucky to be on a night out for a fiver..

When the stewards and police came round, those same kids moved closer to the Oldham crowd and started gesturing and egging them even more and recording the Oldham output on their mobiles so they can send them to their dumb arse friends at school.

Thought Oldham fans didn't deserve any provocation as they made it a great atmosphere before that incident in the second half..
On leaving the stadium exit, there was trouble between the police and the Oldham fans around the stairwell.

Smashing performance tonight struggled with lighting tho.

To be honest @moribee i tend to agree. Sat in the South Stand for the first time and compared to being in the North its quite dazzling. Had to shield my eyes to have a proper look at the away fans and some of the action further away. etc.

To be honest I am completely disappointed that it wasn’t 8-0. I explicitly called down to Thomas that I wanted 8 after we went 2-0 up early. It really spoilt my overall meal of samosas and London Pride. I shall not be giving a tip!

Sat in the Dug Out? If it was you im surprised he didnt hear the request being asked 3-4 times ;)

Anyone in the East Stand know what the shenanigans was early/mid 2nd half? Looked like some Oldham fans were trying to get around the stewards into the BFC section. Saw some folks running out on our side as if to confront them. Hope it was nothing. Their club is in turmoil, they've travelled down here in decent numbers for a midweek game. five down at HT.

Well, that was a very enjoyable evening! 11 changes but we were bang up for it against a pretty woeful Oldham side. Somewhat surprisingly started with 3 at the back, Zanka, Goode and Thompson as the CBs and Fosu and Roerslev wing backs. Couple of mins in Wissa gets bundled over and Forss slots home the penalty. We didn't look back after that. Difficult to pick out players really as we were totally a class or three above but the attitude all round was excellent. Continued working and pressing until the last minute. Some lovely goals and really nice attacking football. Best goal left for the last minute or so with a delicious dinked ball into the box from Ghoddos for Wissa to spectacularly finish with an overhead/bicycle kick.. Lovely way to round off the evening..

Really pleased for Forss with his four goals, worked really hard and got into great positions in the box. His fourth goal is a classic from his B team days, run to the near post and smash the pull back into the top of the net. Wissa looked good too. Much better work-rate, tracking back and pressing and no little skill either. Could have had a hatful with a bit more composure (you don't have to hit it first time every time!!). First proper look at Zanka and he looked quality. Really comfortable on the ball. Looks a big step up from Reid. Goode was fantastic again. Great to have him back. He won everything in the air and strode out with the ball. Stunning shot from range which nearly took the keepers head off!!

Midfield was dominant with Frank, Ghoddos and Jensen knocking it around. Jensen, surprisingly captain tonight, was just a joy to watch. They gave him so much space and he revelled in it. Attitude was spot on too. Lost the ball a bit carelessly at one point and then won it back, stormed forward and pinged a beaut into the path of Wissa who slotted home.

Fernandez again looked v comfortable on the ball and pulled off one fantastic Raya-esque save when he'd been put in the sh*t by a poor Roerslev back pass. Otherwise didn't have a great deal to do..

Anyway, difficult to really rate anyone given the opposition but Frank will have been really pleased with the effort, intensity and some of the football we played. Neat cameos from Bidstrup (excellent again), Stevens and Peart-Harris. No injuries, and some good minutes under the belt for some key squad players..

I asked politely as well! First experience in Dugout. Quite liked it, but atmosphere a bit flat compared to other stands.

Yep bit quiet. But wasnt expecting much due to the nature of the game.

Right at the back on the dividing line between us and them they were leaning over giving it back and there were plenty of stewards in between but tbf they gave no indication there trying to come across. The stewards were there in large numbers and something happened between them and one of the hefty stewards came running up the stairs to the back and then it all kicked off and then 3 of Oldham were taken away by some force by the stewards and police.
At entry, I saw them having their banners confiscated as I walked in and a lot of them were not happy about it and then as I left there was a huge struggle between the exit and the stairs area with the police. The stewards told us to leave and head towards Lionel Road South

I think the lights are at so many angles to ensure they light all the pitch that wherever you sit there will be one or more in your eyeline.

I was quite confused by Wissa's performance. I thought he was pretty poor, but took his two goals with the two best bits of quality of the night.

The pitch and seats are in different areas last time I looked.
No sh*t, the lights will have a beam angle and the mid point will be aimed where it is needed, if that be near the touchline then people near to that line will have it in their eyeline. Maybe they need some deflectors fitted to ensure they light the pitch and the pitch only.

In S103 tonight and simlarly to my ST seat in S106 there were lights in the East stand annoying me.

Not taking anything away from our performance, but that Oldham team is one of the worst league teams I have ever seen in 45 years of watching BFC.
Oldham fans to go from the days of Joe royle to that sh*t must be hard to watch.

Wissa also Won the penalty for our opener & made Forss second with a delightful curling effort which struck the Post for a Marcus tap in. Occasionally made the wrong decision but overall looked pacey, direct & a handful. Certainly not poor.

Higher than v FGR. 12100 odd. Excellent! Still seemed a lot of day trippers coming to BCS for the first time.
Amazing that we've exceeded FGR. I thought that most of the people interested in the new stadium would have been at that fixture. To have more people than Griffin Park held in the following round is discombobulating

I remember us playing Lincoln in the season with butcher and Scott and they couldn’t string a pass together or stay in formation, and thinking how can they be professional footballers. Oldham looked even worse

Slightly disappointed that it was 70 odd less than the poopah-scoops managed for their glamorous tie against PL Everton…
I thought the same thing, although Everton would have taken far more that the 600 Oldham took.

On a side note, Fulham v Leeds Attendance 11,299......... and Leeds sold out their allocation of 5,400. Great effort by us to get almost 13k!!

Fosu and mathias Jensen looked the best to me, very composed on the ball, but Oldham gave our midfield all night on the ball without closing down, it will be very different on Saturday.
Well done to all the players and happy days.
What was with the disco before kick off! and how did the DJ get the timing of Hey Jude wrong 😁
