In sure I'm not the only one who remembers in years gone by being desperate for the likes of Man Utd away in a cup draw for revenue and glamour

Now it is just a bit "whatever" as whatever team we get we are playing then twice in the league anyway.

Strange times.
Its fantastic and shows how far we have come.

More taps, another opportunity to tour the stadium and another home game under the lights. Great draw 😀

Blimey. Opinions5u will be turning in his grave. I miss opinions and Ade122. They both had some very interesting views on things.
I never met either but miss them on here. I can imagine Opinions5u would have been really excited for this and the chance to visit the new ground and a good number of GPGers would have bought him a pint. Hope he’s got a good dodgy stream from the afterlife.

A lot of people wanted this. Let’s hope it doesn’t come back and bite our backsides

Game falls between the game away to Wolves and then the Saturday evening game to Liverpool.

Clear what the focus will be on.

I think it’s a great draw. A home fixture, more game time for fringe players, more TAPS, and more opportunities for the club to test out fixes to any stadium issues.

Always had a soft spot for Oldham, proper club with fans that could have taken the easy way out and follow either Manchester club instead. Bloody freezing there, mind!

I sat next to Ade for circa15 years. A Dean at Brunel (him not me). He was a lovely normal but very intelligent bloke along with his son Anthony.

A game exactly like Round 2 so gives the club an ideal opportunity to show they've learnt lessons

Or, if you want to be a bit more combative: no place to hide if Varney f***s this up

All four West London teams drawn at home. You’d expect two to be moved to the Wednesday. Could ours be one given we kick off later on Saturday?

Everton, Leeds and Villa visiting the others.

Superb, wheel out the same team pretty much. That is assuming my 50 TAPS is enough to get me a ticket of course.

Should be a decent crowd with cheap tickets on offer.

I wonder if that’s happened before in the league cup?

Normally I’d say what a crap draw, wishing for a big PL team. But now we’re in the big boys league I’d rather not play any so we can progress. Home to Oldham is certainly one of the more favourable ties we could have got but obviously after last night we shouldn’t be taking any side too lightly! Personally it’s another chance to try out another area of the ground having ticked off the East Stand and the Railway Lounge (South Stand).

Looking at the fixtures on both weekends, we are normally paired with Chelsea, they play 4.30 on the Sunday so likely will play Wednesday, also Qpr play on the Friday night after the cup games so will most likely play on Tuesday, it’s likely it will be the Wednesday I think

Just hope they keep the ticket prices the same as last night and we should get a similar crowd which was a lot more than I was expecting. Although I doubt Oldham will bring as many as FGR.
