With the keeper debate raging - thought I'd see what those of you who've watched a few 90 mins of Balcombe thought of him?
I've only seen snippets, where he looked good, and just wondered how far off people thought he is/was from making a more serious challenge for one of our GK spots.

I saw him at Wingate and Finchley where he was OK but not as dominating as I would have expected given his size and bulk. He has missed a lot of the season through injury and probably just needs games.

Wonder whether, in the pre-season, whether it'd be worth having him amongst the first team group, both for him to learn from the others and benefit from the training, as well as for Cana to see more of him day in day out.

Isn't he already training with the first team keepers?

Well done Ellery for getting called into England U20 squad
Hopefully a great future ahead
Congratulations, hopefully, see him involved in the first team next season, in the League Cup or FA Cup.

Looking pretty good I must say. Good distribution, positioning, shot stopping all been needed in the first half and he’s come out of it well.

Dasilva hasn’t been overly involved - Japan controlling the midfield. They look excellent technically.

Confident and good distribution but should have done better with their late winner.

X-Ealing now in Bedford
Cut a long story short. Son is 12 and plays at a very good level. I coach. Been bringing my son and his team mates down from Bedford for a while now and slowly converting my son's mates to Bees fans.

Latest lad has left Man U behind for the Bees. Mr Balcombe. Absolute top quality the way you responded to said boys dad on social media about his son's birthday.

Whether you can arrange it or you can't is immaterial. Responding to the boys dad like you did says everything about you and the club....class!

My son's mates love coming down and watching quality football in a great atmosphere and having such good and positive interaction with the players.

Proud to be a Bee. Thanks Ellary and all the other players that have made these lads day over and over this season.

Interesting that Balcombe hasn’t gone with 1st team to Austria and Gunnarsson has. Is this a sign we are expecting Balcombe to go out on loan and Gunnarsson to step up as the 1st team no. 2 keeper if Daniels goes.....

Reading the homegrown player rules stuff, it would be rather helpful if we developed a superstar keeper, since they play every game, rarely get injured, etc.
Would make it a little easier in the future to field a matchday squad within the rules.

Where is EB now?
Very strange. I don't think he played a single minute in the pre-season games and when the first team went to Austria, he travelled with the B team to Chester. But he still hasn't even appeared for them. Very odd.

Loan move beckoning maybe as the other young guy seems to be more favoured as backup to the first team

Is he still injured then or has he been promoted to the first team squad?

Not playing on the latest trip.

Not in the squad today. Not playing for B team.

Is he injured? If not another loan must be likely?

Bizarre. If we wanted him out on loan surely someone would have snapped our hand off for him.
Incredibly odd situation. He didn't even go out with the squad to their pre-season trip to Austria and instead was sent to Chester with the B team... and never played a single minute!!

Really strange situation, that he hasn't been included in the first team or B Team, but can get called up to the U21's.

Looks like a potential player to go out loan team, apart from Yearwood. who has just scored.
Definitely. Onen is just coming back from injury and obviously Yearwood and Thompson need some playing time. But everyone else is in the late summer sale shop window

Also called up for England U-21 now, which is odd considering how little he plays for anyone.

As he will be missing the next two week I wonder if that could stop any team wanting to take him on loan,if available
