On the bench again today as Doncaster lose again.
Getting match day experience, rather than game time experience is all he seems to be getting out of this loan at the moment.

Oh dear. Have a look at the last minute penalty he conceded last night after an appalling fumble of a long shot.

He’s still very young but I doubt if he’s considered good enough for the Championship yet.

Needs more games and seasoning next season.

Doncaster’s season is pretty much over after all of their poor results. He’s not in their match day squad today.

This says that he is about to go on a Season Long Loan to Burton in LOne; inevitably have no idea how 'true' it is,specially from this source, but several knowledgeable posters on here have consistently said that Patrik Gunnarsson, who seemed to do so well on his loan last year, was going to be the Number Two to DR.

Football league world isn't a great source.

Doncaster loan didn't quite work out in my opinion. Change of management I think didn't do Ellery any good either. Probably a good move to send him out again

Would have been very hard to get him a starting place in a Championship side I'd have thought. He'll have a chance at Burton if he goes there. Good move for him but needs to make the most of it this time around..

He's on a long contract, so there's no real desperation for him to prove he's a PL player just yet. A season in L1 is just the job for his next phase of development. Our former GK coach Andy Quy is at Burton, which adds some weight to the link.

He seems to have been with us a long long time without getting any nearer to the 1st team, Loans are all well and good but he needs Championship football if he wants to progress, I have a feeling that he's a nearly man as he doesn't seem to to be making any significant headway at all, As it stands it appears that Patrik Gunnarsson will be our No2 unless we bring someone else in, if so, why did we let Luke go?

He's only 21, v young for a keeper, a season in league one will do him a load of good.

Off to Burton Albion on a season loan!

😂

Brentford goalkeeper Ellery Balcombe has joined Burton Albion on loan for the season. Ellery, 21, completed the move to the Sky Bet League One side today, Tuesday 29 June, and has begun training with them as they begin preparations for the new season. He will link up again with Andy Quy, who had a spell as Goalkeeper Coach at Brentford during the 2019/20 season and now has the same role at Burton.

That comes as a bit of a shock!! Decent move for him. Hope he can get regular first team football..

He signed a four and a half year contract six months ago, somebody must rate him.
It's called protecting your assets.

Someone will want him at a lower level and we will get some money when we are ready to sell.

I seem to remember something along the lines of “you won’t see Dalsgaard in a Brentford shirt again”.

I think that was before he played a key role in the play-offs! 😂

As Henrik said himself, it was a shock to him to be fit too. 🤷‍♂️

Yep, Rebus also said that Emiliano was no better than a ball boy so if anything I think we can take his statement as a sign that Ellery will be our number 1 very soon.

You just never know with keepers. Bonham was a shocker but steadily improved as he gained more confidence and Football League experience. Hopefully the same will happen with Balcombe but I also doubt he will feature for us.

Hasselbaink should be pretty secure- if such a thing exists in Football Management- and will have Burton playing decent football. Hopefully a beneficial loan for both Ellery and BFC.
Burton were stuffed until JFH took over and had an excellent second half of the season. I expect Burton will build on that again next season which should al least mean some stability for Ellery
