Yes indeed. Goalkeepers should be perfect from the day they pull-on the green jersey aged 11. Hence why so many PL keepers are aged U14.That may be, but he is extremely error prone which is not a good thing for a goalkeeper.

Must be very undermining for him, pointless loan where he plays only in the cup. Surely Burton would assure us he would get League game time? Would be better for him to be sent to a League 2 team and get a full 90 every week and get his confidence up, or a League 1 team if they can promise him time between the sticks

No one gets a guarantee of game time. He has to perform and from what I have heard EB didn’t.
You can’t blame Burton for not playing him when they have someone who’s patently better.

What a waste of time that has been. So much in the hands of chance. He needed a run of games and to end up at a club where the other keeper is clearly worse / ill / injured or whatever. Sure the folks at the top believed he would get game time but he hasn't. Half a season wasted which at his age is a big big loss. It seems increasingly apparent that he is surplus to requirements at BCS and he really needed to be in a shop window to prove he can become a senior FL keeper somewhere. What a shame...

I agree to an extent but they aren't going to play him unless they think he's better than the other options and they obviously don't which is a concern at this stage in his career.
He didn’t play a single game outside the Papa John’s Trophy. He joined them in July and spent their first 6 league games on the bench before he even played a cup game.
Must be very frustrating for him at this stage of his career, his reputation would not have been enhanced by this loan. No idea where he goes next but could be national league or below to try and get decent senior first team experience.
I would think he would be one of the better, if not the best keeper in L2 and a decent keeper in L1. He had a few very good games with Donny last season, especially in that FA Cup where he saved 2 penalties. I would have thought there would be 1 or 2 in League 1 that would want him, but whether he performs or not is a different matter, his confidence must be shot, feel sorry for the guy really

He got overtaken for a while by Louis Jones at Donny, only for a few games as I think they wanted to get Jones minutes, he is a very good keeper and I believe is seen as a very big prospect at Donny, but yes he wasn't first choice all season

The criticism of Burton is unwarranted, IMO.
Plenty of times in the past we took players on loan from PL clubs who didn't have the impact we'd hoped for and therefore didn't get much game time and ended up being recalled.

Really can't see him making it here so might be time for him to look for a permanent move elsewhere to get games and maybe build back up the leagues

Agreed, seem to be loads ahead of him now anyway.
I agree, think he has it in him to go further than he has, not sure if he will ever become good enough to challenge for our #1 but I think he still has a good potential

For me a GK only develops with game time and yes might be low level but game time is massive. Different from other positions level of qaulity probably had more affect on outfield players.

So frustrating for the lad all this bench warming. Hard to swallow but he needs to get signed by a something like a National League North/South side and a guaranteed start. Bring himself to notice and start climbing the ladder a la Pinnock.
