blimey. great moves for Borehamwood, i expect - if Shaibu stays fit, those two should be a class above for that league!

Interesting. Boreham Wood have just signed a keeper from Arsenal as well, hope Ellery manages to make the number 1 shirt his own.

Good and local, so they can continue to do some work at JR and we can keep a close eye on their development with regular games.

As stated. Ellery will do very well to win a place over Dave Huddart who was released by Arsenal

Might have a cheeky couple of quid on them at 20/1 now that they've signed our two lads, what's the rest of their squad like anyone know much about them

An odd one why loan him to a non league side where very likely he won’t get much game time?

Indeed, must imagine we have a guarantee from them that he will play X amount of games that the club things will be a benefit, otherwise it seems abit pointless

Maybe we think him having to fight for the number 1 jersey is better for his development than a guarenteed spot? It certainly means he will have to push himself more every training session etc. Will be an interesting one to watch.

In any case it's a youth loan to a non-league side, so I believe we can recall him outside the transfer window and re-loan elsewhere if needed

BBC report indicates that he played well, at least one special save. Anyway finished with a clean sheet!

Which means he can play for our b team as well if necessary.

Yes, he did drop the ball but equally I was surprised that there wasn't a free kick. I thought the Wrexham player backed into him. In the Prem, that would have definitely be seen as a foul on the keeper.

3 now no fault by keeper. Must say Pyle on loan from Huddersfield for Wrexham looks very good since coming on.

I thought Neil Greig's injury update suggested that Ellery Balcome would be out for "weeks rather than months"?

So why is Balcombe tweeting to say that his season-long loan at Boreham Wood has been ended by the injury?

Maybe he needs to be under the BFC medical and conditioning regime without distractions?

Yep. I don't think there's necessarily anything to worry about. Fairly standard for injured loanee to be assessed & treated at the parent club for anything longer than a couple of weeks, no? As to loan ending, it could be that B/Wood need to draft in a replacement. They have other players in on loan (inc. Shaibu), and maybe restricted as to numbers, so have to free up EB's place in the squad.

Maybe Thomas wants him in-house to look at him more
I'd have thought he will take advice from Caña and Lars, who should be watching his development most closely.

because it wasn't a "season-long" loan?

although it would appear Mr Greig prefers saying "eight weeks" to "two months"

but then https://www.brentfordfc.com/news/2018/august/justin-shaibu-and-ellery-balcombe-loans/ and
Ellery has signed a Youth Loan with the Hertfordshire Club which runs through until Tuesday 1 January

maybe it was fully intended to be, in due course, if all went well. but seems it wasn't actually, and as we own him, we decided to take him back for now. more plausible than the suggestion that Greigy's lying to us :)

I would say that’s very possible given out goalkeeper situation . If good enough you are old enough would be our money ball mentality

It would but given he's injured and couldn't nail a place down at Boreham Wood, I don't think that's the reason.
