Please may I earn a place in the GPG sin-bin by gently enquiring as the role of a Moderator. Is it to maximise or minimise the number of threads on a single topic !?Maybe it is simply a device for keeping Emiliano in our memory …..

Emiliano Marcondes is now a Former Bee so he is now part of the Former Bees section of the GPG. That’s it.

There is one open thread. All closed threads reference this one.

I think it's to the credit of Emiliano and Henrik not only that even though they (pretty much) knew they were leaving they still threw themselves heart and soul into their last games at the club. Thanks to them, we're up.

Also, well done Thomas Frank for putting his trust in them.

I'm glad after some of the stick he's received that he'll always be thought of fondly by Brentford supporters. Maybe never quite fitted in, but gave us that something extra in games where we were a bit immobile otherwise.

Good, determined personality as well. Thanks for the memories.

Never really worked.

He had a few highlights and one special one.

Good luck in your next adventure, wherever that may be?

I'm very sad about this one . Personally think who would have done well for us next year. Really hope he doesn't go to the Scum ( either of them). Better if he went back to Denmark.
Thanks for the goal I will remember forever! Shame!!!

Sorry to see him go. He progressed from a bit of a pillock to a proper professional.
Will remember his goal at Wembley for the rest of my life.
Will also miss his ever evolving silly haircuts.

Thought we'd of given him a shot in the big league - although I trust the people in charge that this is the right decision to make. All the best Emi.

Didn’t always go according to plan for Emi at Brentford but he’ll leave having made an indelible mark at BFC over the last 15 months or so:
  • Scored in the last match at GP with fans
  • Scored in the first match v the river rats when the season resumed
  • Won the penalty v Bournemouth in the POSF
  • Crossed for the Forss winner in the POSF
  • Scored the second in the play off final
Just like Dalsgaard, he turned up when it mattered the most and delivered on the big stage. For that, he should always be fondly remembered at BFC.

Good luck for the next adventure Emi and thank you for the memories.

No surprise and hope whoever he ends up with we get drawn in the league or FA cup so we can welcome him back.

Upmost professional. He probably knew we would not offer him the contract he wanted and the playing time going forward next season regardless of the league we were in but was professional enough not to let it get in the way. He was superb for us in his last two games.

His goal at Wembley is my favourite Brentford goal and I can watch it on loop all day. Thank you Emi - wishing you all the best in the next chapter of your career. A hero.

He never really fitted our regular formation, which obviously isn't his fault. Think he'll do very well as a 10 in a team that plays 4-2-3-1

Shows what a tough life being a professional footballer can sometimes be. He would have been desperate to get a go at the premier. He helped us get there but quite rightly there is no room for sentiment and he moves on. I doubt he will ever play in the top league now.

Thanks for that magic moment though Emi, you are etched in Brentford history.

A big fans favourite. Out of contract , the club asks itself do we give him a new contract. We are now in the best league in the world, i love the bloke and i think he is not quite good enough . 26years old, very injury prone, and spent time away on loan. Good look to Emil. Though a credit to the club.

I do not understand, why Brentford can not use him in the PL. I hope that an other club in the league will sign him up

Thanks Emi, what a legend you will forever be for your part in getting us up to the PL. Always seemed a cracking lad, injuries disrupted his time with us, but a quality player and will always be welcomed back at Brentford with open arms.

Genuinely sad to see Emiliano go. He will always be a legend - the guy whose goal at Wembley sealed Brentford’s promotion into the Premier League. Wish him all the luck going forward, and I hope to see him play again somewhere one day.

The answer to your question is how successful was he over the course of his time with us in the Championship? Answer- not successful enough. Stellar moments yes but a season is a season not a few moments of wonderment .

Do he have many bad games? Seem to not get s run of them due to injuries. Think back to the one he got at the start of a season where he jumped and landed awkwardly. Found it difficult to shine. Defo talent. Good luck EMI and thx for returning.the cup!

A bit surprised at this, but given the maximum squad numbers and the fact that he would probably only ever a back-up, maybe it was he who felt that it was time to move on. As some have said, maybe it never quite worked. I do however think that we never really saw the best of him, i always thought there was more.

Sad to see him go and wish him well for the future. Brilliant for us in flashes but was never able to do it on a regular basis. At least he leaves on a high and I am sure he will forever treasure his day at Wembley.

Very decent on his day (PO semi final ,final).Just not enough of them which is a shame.
That said he departs with “hero” status and our eternal thank’s !

The man will forever be a legend for his part in probably the most successful game in our history.
And being instrumental in getting to that final with his performance in the semi 2nd leg

My Emi highlight - apart from Wembley - was his beautifully weighted pass to set Mbeumo up for the 3rd goal v Sheff Wed in the last game I (and almost all of us) saw at Griffin Park
....one of thee best passes ever....bees or otherwise.

undervalued by the many; treasured by the few. I'll always be a fan. Thanks for all the assists, determination to keep getting better and ultimately - the end product that got us over the line. Forever writ in our folklore.
