Well, given that contract talks haven't been going too well I wouldn't be surprised if we decided to cash in now. Should be able to get something for him. Would mean bringing another midfielder in though you'd have thought?

If we can get 4.5m for Yennaris....personally I would keep him until summer and offer a contract and if he turns it down then so be it. If we can get Baptiste fit again then we have a replacement already in our midst...

Ghoddos looks more up to speed now. Zamburek and Haygarth are alternatives and the latter has really impressed. Also Maghoma is back from injury and is one to watch out for from the B team.

You cannot compare Emiliano with Yennaris. He went to China for a very inflated price that suited both us and the player, where we could not achieved that fee anywhere else. If Emiliano does not sign he will go for free at the end of the season, simples.

The players you have named all have one thing in common, they are not ideal replacements at this moment of time in the Championship. If we get promotion it will be even harder for any of these players to step up. IMO we will be looking to bring someone in at the end of the season, and that player will depend on what league we are in.

The point I was making is that we tend to get decent fees for players that are over most fans expectations....Yennaris being one example and Yearwood another.

Not ideal at the moment losing any first team player who knows how the team play. Very hard to get anyone to come in and hit the ground running particularly in attacking areas as it's all about knowing where players will be and picking out runs etc etc. Imagine if he's off we've got someone decent coming in as we'd be quite short otherwise, unless we feel that Ghoddos will take his spot?
Maybe it has with Ghoddos. Like everyone says, we normally sign before we sell

Would agree in normal times but with Norgaard and Baptiste not available and 24 games in 15 or so weeks we need all the squad options we can get.
Surely having him as a rotation option is worth more than what little we would get for him at this stage of his contract.
Perhaps he means Ferdinand?

Wasn't he out at beginning of season after being clattered in a game, with a back injury? Must be a recurrence of that. Certainly looking short on numbers in midfield at moment

Very positive news. We will need him back soon. Be great to have midfield options of janelt/Norgaard, Jensen/Marcondes, Da Silva/Ghoddos....will give us real strength from bench especially with five subs rule. And that’s not even including Zamburek. I am assuming Baptiste won’t be back this season?

Appears to be a way off yet as seems to be still working in the gym. Been no word on Baptiste since his operation but general consensus seemed to be we'd be lucky to see him before the end of the season.

Noooooooooooooooooooo! Barnsley did for us at the end of last season. They are not a bad side and they play the sort of game we find hard to cope with. If Jannsen and Norgaard were fit and ready, I might say give them a go because they could handle a Barnsley but, please God, let's not throw away top spot after just a few days.

I think he was referring to the comment I made that Marcondes seemed to be all on his own at jersey road the day after Boro.. don’t think he was suggesting giving them all a day off for the Barnsley game!!
