Oh my days ! Incredible. We have witnessed history. What a performance !

Oh Emma Raducanu,
She wears a magic hat,
She turned up to the US Open
And said "I'm winning that"

Doesn't look like a flash in the pan

9 matches won
0 sets lost.

Most ever matches won at a US Open. Man or Woman

And again not a set dropped ! Let that sink in !

The first qualifier to ever reach a Slam final.

The first GB woman in a Slam final since 1977

The first GB women’s US Open finalist since pre decimalisation.

Cant believe her temperament on the big points. Where has she come from? I had never heard of her before Wimbledon. Amazing.

The cheek of the girl in second round qualifying who spoiled Emma's card with a 7! Is she also worth a punt in the future?!

Seems quite surreal! What a star we have here.

(plus I hope she wins even more to stick it to McEnroe and his bottle comments after Wimbledon!)

Just woken up to this incredible news. I honestly thought that Sakkari would play some clever drop shots which might put Emma off her game, but this doesn't seem to have been the case.

Will watch the match later with great delight! Fantastic, young Emma. Superb. 👏👏👏🎉🎉🎉

Sensational. Going through qualifying and then getting to the final without dropping a set in only your second major tournament. Incredible character and maturity for an 18yo too. Saturday should be a cracker.

Watched the end of Fernandes match and all of Emma’s. Promises to be a cracking final. Our girl hasn’t dropped a set yet and looks invincible. Great day of sport ahead tomorrow!

I’m looking outside the personal and UK records quoted -

FIRST qualifier to reach a Grand Slam final.

Only ONE other player (Pam Shriver US Open’78) has reached the Final at their 2nd Grand Slam. EVERBODY, McEnroe and even Becker at 17, took more.

Just let the enormity of those sink in.

Fabulous updates chaps. Went straight here first for the highlights without knowing the score and they were a tense read! Didn't think we'd see more astonishing British sporting performance this year than Cav in the TdF but Emma, WOW. There is a lot of mental fragility in women's tennis atm and it seems that this is where she really has an edge. Each of her opponents so far has to a greater or lesser extent completely lost it psychologically as soon as Emma has pulled ahead. Odds for the final please? Surely Radders is favourite now???

Why does every serve sound like a let?
I think it's an echo.
She's just knocked out the 11th seed and Olympic champion with ease, so she should have nothing to fear from the 17th seed.

It could be an all teenager final!
I called it!

Having watched both matches, I really can't decide who I think has the edge. Fernandez knocked out Osaka and Sabalenka, two much stronger opponents than Raducanu has faced. But Raducanu is so strong against the second serve. Both born in Canada, of course.

I reckon if you'd told Fernandez two weeks ago that she'd get to the final, she wouldn't have believed you. But if you'd then told her that she'd be the older player ...

These evening matches in New York are at a great time for viewers down under!

First US Open Womans Final since the war with 2 unseeded players

Almost a battle of the 18 year olds
Except Fernandez is the old woman having turned 19 this week !!

Emma has just been so impressive so far

I never thought a week ago I’ll be up at 4am watching women’s tennis
Totally agree, last time I watched it was Martina v Everet, possibly a bit of Jo Durie climbing the ranks, she’s just brilliant.
Also, she doesn’t make strange noises when smashing the sh*t out of the ball.

Was briefly into women’s tennis during the Steffi Graf era but that was about it. Haven’t really been watching any of the last couple of decades. Just noticed the Williams sisters were always winning. I can probably name only one player in the top 20 in women’s ranking. It’s been a bore until now.

Emma is just an unbelievable talent and as noted above her post match interview was so refreshing. Very well grounded.

Can’t wait for Saturday 9pm.

I know it's hard work and I understand professional sport.
The dedication. The hours of training. The sacrifices.
She has made it look so easy.
Fantastic achievement.
Just brilliant news.

That's always a major plus!

I also think that Katie Boulter could be another decent young British player if she can manage to be injury-free (which seems to have been an issue for her so far), but I doubt that it will be to the extent that Emma has achieved in the professional game in such an incredibly short period of time.

In between it all she managed an A* in A level maths this year.

Emma currently 7/1 to win the US open. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Emma currently 12/1 to win SPOTY. GET ON. (Both Ladbrokes)

If Emma does win the US Open, I reckon she's a cert for SPOTY.
Great shout earlier in the week!!! 👍🙂
Hope you took your own advice?? (I didn't.....🙄)

Now 5/6 for SPOTY......

I was watching it on an iPad with no commentary and I have to confess, they panned on two old biddies a couple of fleeting times, I was tired and irritable and thought why?
I then realised it was near royalty in Virginia Wade ffs, confession over. I also found that squeaky voice in the crowd who often waited for the crowd to settle down before squeaking out some high pitched yank diatribe got to me a bit, especially when Emma had to stop serving a couple of times and went 40-0 to 40-30 at a crucial time.

Wonderful success so far. Can she possibly go on at her age to emulate the success of the similarly aged Maureen Connolly ("Little Mo") in the early 1950s and win a grand slam?

As a student I can get 6 months. Was going to save it but might have to cash in.

Great performance (again)...best of luck in final.

Had a fiver E/W. Price boosted to 13/1 - £91.25 returned when she wins. (y)

Advice for today - @Banana is running today in the 5.15 at Salisbury. Carrying far too much weight. LEAVE ALONE.

Does anyone know how the other girl has been playing? I know we’re super focused on Radu as we should. But I haven’t been following the other side of the draw.

I was briefly in to it during the Martina Hingis era. About 60 seconds every time i watched her then got bored

Blew your load after 60 seconds and they changed over to Channel 4 racing...

A shame that the Emmafest has overshadowed the other fabulous British achievement in this tournament of Jamie Murray and Joe Salisbury both getting through their respective sides of the Men's Doubles draw to face each other in the final. Jamie gunning for his 8th Grand Slam title  Kick-off @5pm so should make a good substitute for other sporting non-events today

And doesn't waste time p1ssing about with ball selection. If she serves a fault and the ball is hit back to her, she just catches it and serves it up again.

Fernandez was higher ranked than Radacanu before the tournament and still is. She has beaten current world numbers 5, 4 and 2 on her run to the final so should be favourite to win, but then Radacanu has been underdog in most of her main draw matches so far.

In which match(es) was she not the underdog?
