Have been sat on the sofa watching Man City - Arsenal this afternoon which is live on Czech TV. Adebayor has nodded the winner for 3-1 and absolutely SPRINTED the entire length of the pitch to share his moment of joy with the Arsenal away end:eek: They were going absolutely mental!

A part of me thinks that this is fair game, since I assume has taken his fair share from his own fans for most of last season. He got a yellow card for his troubles, but I assume the FA will jump on this...

also appeared to be a few scores to be settled, "accidentally" stamped on van Persie after a pretty robust challenge from vP, thankfully he never got anywhere Bendtner

seemed to be fairly up for the game....not sure how much exposure this will get on MOTD....decent game

This looks like it's going to be worth watching tonight.

Not sure I'm going to like seeing Clevelands miss though.

heard it on the radio and it sounded like adebayor could be in hot water after inciting a near pitch invasion at the arsenal end, let the football do the talking

Emmanuel Adebayor claims he will not forgive Arsenal fans for the way they have treated him for as long as he lives.

If Adebayor has incited the Arsenal fans...then the full weight of the FA should come down on him like a ton of bricks. He knows what he's doing with full knowledge that he will be protected by countless stewards & police. Don't bother fining him.. A large suspension, with the added punishment of being stranded at Highbury Corner on a Friday night with a baying mob....That should teach these supposedly professionals.

Errrr did this not all start with the fans inciting the player? Please explain to me why he shouldn't give some back??

Do you really think that fans should be able to indulge in whatever feral behaviour they like, whilst the players who are targetted should ignore it / laugh it off as being "part and parcel" of our wonderful game.

Rest assured the FA will give you your pound of flesh, but I just wish for once common sense would prevail and an FA spokesman would say,

"well we've had a quiet word with Mr Adebayor, but our view on this one is that if you dish it out, you should be man enough to take it, so the message to the Arsenal fans at Maine Rd today is, grow up, behave like normal human beings, show some respect & when things go against you , stop being so ****in' precious"

Emmanuel Adebayor admits emotions got the better of him as he celebrated after scoring during Manchester City's 4-2 win over his old club Arsenal

absolutely, it goes both ways.

I was embarassed about the Tony Roberts saga at Dagenham, if your going to give it, fair play when they give it back, it's all banter, and both parties know nothing would ever happen as stewards/police will prevent it.

This is the reason I'll be watching MOTD tonight. It's always good to see a player with the quality to be able to ram the feral abuse back down their throats.

Scrap that. Just seen it, and if it was Rowlands or someone we already disliked that had done it, we would be screaming blue murder.

indeed, I counted at least 10 things thrown from the Arse fans at him:sorted:

Good on him. Fans can dish the abuse so need to take a little back. Well done Man City and Adebayor. Wonder if Wenger saw it :)

He's gonna suffer IMHO. The Van Persie incident is gonna get him at a minimum

bit harsh on yourself mate! you've already served your sentence this season haven't you?

loved it. good on adebayor. great stuff. overpaid idiots kicking each other in the face. and class celebration, he must have run the length of three football pitches to get to the arsenal fans. great excuse for the fans to throw stuff at him so everyones a winner. terrific scenes. for what reason are people saying the celebration was unacceptable, stirring up a bit of passion in the crowd i suppose? boo hoo. well most of them need waking up! good result too.

The biggest story now is the damning statement by Van Persie....Excuse the poor pun, but that is putting the boot in on a former colleague, VP didn't mince his words.

How ironic to have Alan Shearer on MOTD giving his opinion on a player kicking someone in the face and inciting opposing fans.

The sad part for Man City is that they've had a brilliant start to the season, and so has Adebayor. This is going to disrupt both him and the club when the inevitable 4 game minimum rolls in, and ensure a hot welcome at the Emirates forever more.

i'd guess they weren't friends... i downloaded match of the day, and they show Ade shaking hands at the start - no eye contact between him and RvP...

5-game ban i reckon. agree totally with the points about "fans give it but can't take it", however, Adebayor clearly went too far. saying "sorry, i was emotional" is a rubbish excuse - if you could get away with that, surely we can start punching people and saying "yeah sorry, i was wound up at the time but now i've calmed down and  sorry"

lol very good point! as for "the fans started it by inciting Adebayor", i can't agree - surely he started it by playing like a sack of dog-poo for the last 6 months

Exactly - I didn't think this stacked up when I heard it. Being emotional is an excuse for taking one's shirt off and getting booked, but sprinting the entire length of the field to taunt the people who used to pay your wages can only be attributed to being a nasty, vengeful airhead.

You forgot "and overpaid"

I have little sympathy for him , he started it after his previous season with Arsenal with his very public "come and get me" messages to Milan and all to get a better paid contract.

VP strikes me a rather unpleasant individual but that stamping could have taken his eye out.

They should throw the book at Adebayor.

Including a plastic chair, I've just seen in The Sunday Telegraph.

WTF did that come from?
