West Ealing Bee said:I'm always against declaring during a break, it gives the team about to bat more time to plan their innings.
Having ten minutes to rush in, put you pads on a get back out benefits the bowling side.
Les Beeavinu said:I hope we don't hear any criticism of Jones if he is out cheaply looking for quick runs.
The H said:dunno.... he might get 2 tests in this series if Jones drops a few chances.
The H said:we'll need the best wk-batsman in the Ashes / World Cup
West Ealing Bee said:Anyone remember the last time three England batsmen scored 100s in the same innings
Jimbee said:Another very good day and the three borderline batsmen are now putting a lot of pressure on the 1st choices. I find it strange that no-one has mentioned KP could be considered for the chop as despite his brilliance he has flaws in his game, one of them being that he's often far too agressive at the start of an innings and had he come in and done what Cook, Collingwood and Bell did, he may have filled his boots too. That said, he was unlucky to be given out.
Jimbee said:At the moment, Pakistan are almost exactly where we were ealry on Thursday, so 2 early wickets tomorrow are the key.
West Ealing Bee said:T In that time Strauss has passed 50 twice and he has never scored more than 140 for England and has only once, if I remember rightly, batted through a full day.
There is no doubt he's a good player but a superb start is adding gloss to an average which is dropping like a stone in both forms of the game.
West Ealing Bee said:Getting the openers out was good but the key batsman are still there, or to come.
If we can get two wickets in the first hour after lunch it opens it up for us but TBH I reckon they'll bat through.
