I hope we don't end with them 8-9 down Mr Strauss/Fletcher :mad1:

Well 4 down now with only 1 and a bit sessions left, it looks like your forecast might be right. :(

Monty and KP bowling well, but I fear we have not left ourselves long enough. Inzi is about as interested in winning this game as he is in taking a quick single!

Another good session for England and it is still there to be won.

4 wickets down, including Yousuf which is huge, and 32 overs to go. Inzamam in now and although Kamran and Afridi are still to come an early wicket will really apply the pressure.

Pakistan would expect to still bat this out, especially with a long batting line-up, but Monty is getting a lot of purchase on the ball and I reckon there are more twists and turns to come.

My bet is 8 down at the end :(

All academic as we never looked like getting close to doing it........

An extra 20 overs would probably have made no difference, a stronger attack is the only thing that would have helped us win that match.

I was surprised how comfortably Pakistan batted out but I guess it shows how far Monty has to go and how important Flintoff is.

I guess we have the advantage, just about, Inzamam and Yousuf were the only batsmen to get runs and if the pitch doesn't suit Kaneria we have a huge upper hand against their attack.

With Flintoff and Younis coming back for the next match both teams will be stronger, but England slightly more so.

I fancy us to win this series if we can get enough runs on the board.

Anyone kinda get the feeling if it was the other way round and we were trying to bed in and see out the overs, it would have been panic stations all round?

It's all to do with the bowlers at your disposal.

England's first choice attack would bowl at just about any team on any last day pitch in the world but with a bowler, or two, down and without a wrist spinner we struggle.

Kaneria, Warne, Murali, Kumble would have bowled their teams to victory on a pitch like that, we don't have that bowler. When we have our big fast bowlers bowling well it doesn't matter, today it did. The pitch and conditions just didn't enable Harmison and Hoggard to bowl them out :(

He hasn't played for Sussex for a week or two as he has a bad neck but he isn't picked by Pakistan at the moment even when fit.

His age counts against him.

Although I agree I'm not sure he is as good as Kaneria.

He takes most of his wickets on a Hove pitch that has been designed for him and the England batsmen are a lot better than most county cricketers.

He's also not exactly one for the future.
