My immediate reaction was that, after so many games on the right, he just got completely lost positionally... that's my excuse for him, anyway.

I think he would benefit from having a Reid alongside him rather than Mads Bech.. Dont get me wrong, Mads Bech is a huge talent and one for the future but I just feel Reid will give us extra stability for the run in... Providing he is fully match fit of course !
Have to disagree with that. Sorenson was outstanding last night, kept the ball and deserves his place. Reid will have to bide his time.our success largely is down to mads and Ethan at the back line

Its concerning he has momentary moments in lapses of concentration like their goal from the free kick. But I think Brian will sort him out - I don't think TF wants to drop him as he's so important at attacking setpieces

That's exactly what I thought too

I think Reid's experience could be useful behind the scenes but I don't expect him to start any games unless there is an injury to Pinnock or Sorensen before the other CBs are back. He's emergency cover.

Controversial thought, but here goes anyway ........... I reckon Pinnock could do a good job as a centre-mid defender (in front of the back four).
Even more controversial ...... if EVER we needed just a draw ....and with all fit....what about.....Jansson & Reid as CB's ......midfield Janelty, Pinnock, and Noorsgard?
I don't think we'd concede....and you know (by now) my love of a C L E A N S H E E T.
And they'd certainly have the Ref's ear!

OK guys, now to shoot me down!!!

By his own high standards I thought Ethan was poor last night, at both ends of the pitch. But he has come a long way in a short space of time, and has done extremely well since he arrived. The margins that determine a good or bad performance can be very fine, as he found out last night. Sure it will be a one off.

...but I'd probably just leave him in his best position unless there was some desperate need to play him elsewhere?

Ivan plays there quite a lot. When he’s not up top or out wide. At least he has in the last couple of games after his barren patch. Nightmare for defences.

Sorry, I don’t think Pinnock can play as a defensive midfielder as I don’t think he’s mobile enough

Immense last night and all season. Our best defender. Without doubt. Unbelievable signing.

He has done extremely well, and for long periods last season was a stand out player unfortunately circumstances have dictated that he has had to play the majority of this season on the right side. It is not always obvious, but there can be major differences between left, and right, and to his credit he has continued to put in solid performances without reaching the heights of last season.

I agree he's better on the left, but worth pointing out that he played on the right for Barnsley. He looks half a yard slower to me which is just tiredness. Still a class act.

Oh dear. Can't hold it against him because we know what a brilliant player he is but he looks like he needs a rest. We may have to bite the bullet and start Goode or Reid soon.

The second goal comes from Pinnock wanting to use his left foot to make the clearance, maybe given the lack of confidence we have shown defending crosses into the box or maybe a lack of confidence in his right foot but really he should just be putting it behind for a corner.

He looked like he was still playing for Barnsley today. But I can't remember the last time he had a bad game, so fingers crossed it's just a one-off!

Poor today, but he has been immense for us, maybe needs a rest, but who do you replace him with?
Is Goode fit enough to start, surely Reid isn't?

He was poor today but he wasn’t alone. He could have no arguments if he was “rested” after that performance but the same could be said of a number of other players.I’ll leave it to TF and his coaching team to decide .

Not just this game, he has made a lot more mistakes as the right sided CB and that’s no coincidence. Not sorting his feet out quick enough, wanting to clear with the wrong foot or failing to track runners - as they don’t come from the shoulder he’s used to. Our attackers scoring goals has covered up a serious square peg in round hole situation. So while our run has been brilliant and Ethan is a seriously good CB, can’t hide from how few clean sheets weve had recently and he has been at fault more than once. Let’s give him a rest, put round pegs in round holes and try Reid with Mads (or Reid with Ethan but that would be harsh on Mads)

I don't think Ethan has been at his fantastic best recently and his form is not helped by his being played at right centre back where he looks uncomfortable, but we haven't got a match fit right sider atm, but there's only one way of getting one of Reid or Goode up to speed....

Has been culpable for a few goals recently so maybe time to rotate the CBs like we do other areas as we cant keep letting in early goals. Clearly had a shocker today but been superb for us so has plenty of credit in the bank.

Playing on the right side may be getting to him; certainly he has been looking below par recently. It could be time for Reid and either Pinnock or MBS, but is Reid ready amd how will he gel with the others? We cannot know the answer to that unless we see more of him in action. One thing is clear: we're shipping too many goals currently.

If the management think Reed is ready I would give Mads a rest and play Pinnock + Reid. I believe Pinnock is our best CB despite the last few games and we should play him on the left in his natural position. TF will know the state of Reed's fitness.

A poor show today, but he wasn't alone, he's been a great asset to us but has had a few poor games by his standards of late, should give him a rest for the QPR game as Warburton will obviously target that area, Reid is a very experienced PL defender and should play instead, otherwise why have we bought him in?

Square pegs in round holes is not good long term once set backs and dips in confidence happen. Maybe Ethan is thinking helping out the team in extremis is one thing but not great for his career progression.

Experienced, yes, but we don't know how sharp he is. Maybe Ethan and the defence need this game to put things right. Reid, if ready, can come on later to uphold the clean sheet.

The QPR game is not a game to gamble on, as our defence will be targeted for our latest mistake, the last thing we need is to lose this one as well, can you imagine Ethan's feelings if he again makes any mistakes, Reid is a seasoned mature professional, who is used to training, so he should be in a very sharp fit condition, and mentally up for it as well, Ethan should be taken out of the equation for his own sake for a couple of matches before he loses all confidence.

Not at his best but l'm not criticising a player who cosistently gets 8 out 10 week in week out.
