N Ireland definitely through although it was Turkey who finished 3rd in their group not Czech. NI have better goal difference than Turkey and Albania who both also finished with 3pts. I reckon it is Wales v N Ireland next

The positive of the expanded tournament is that it has allowed some smaller countries to be there - though some (eg N Ire, who topped their qual'g group) would be there anyway. The negative is that sides can settle for draws - or narrow defeats - knowing they will be 3rd and get through

Hmm i suppose, but why not just hold a draw for the Quarter and Semi finals..? Instead of having Germany v Spain or France in the quarters. If that happens to happen when drawn, fine, but to make it so they WILL meet before the final seems weird. I know rwas ever thus but.. Hmm.

The Q/F is played Sunday 3 July at 8pm

Italy v Spain play the winners of the R16 tie between Germany v ANOther, in their Q/F.
