Six of us going to Bilbao for a random group match. We applied for three each, and have enough for all of us.
Nice AirBnB in the old city and flights from Gatwick booked. Just need to start saving the beer money now.

Email timed at 1.32 this afternoon. I know both winners and losers who've had emails.

Check spam?
Good thought play up but just checked Inbox and spam and nothing as yet.

Maybe they're going to get our new striker to present the tickets on the pitch at boro Saturday!!

Good shout Stevie. I've just checked and was unsuccessful - but I'm hopeful of getting tickets for England's games through the England Supporters Club

As per previous ballots, again unsuccessful and was even willing to be put into other cats if the one chosen wasn't available.
Oh well.
That was 7 group ties applied for and semi and final.

I think all England games will be at Wembley in the Group
UNLESS
Scotland qualify.

If this happens the Eng v Scotland game will be at Hampden

If England and Scotland both qualify the host of the game between the two will be decided at random, so could be either Wembley or Hampden.

Host are guaranteed 2 home games, not 3. So it's not guaranteed that any particular game at Wembley would feature England. Though I can't recall whether they've published which games are D1 v D2, D2 v D3, etc yet.

I applied for 2 games and got nothing. My girlfriend and her brother both applied for 13 games and also got nothing. we went for flexibility over price on one of them too. Those that got nothing get first priority in the next sales period by the way so don't give up yet.

I know one person that went for a load of category 2 tickets and got 3 Wembley group games and the round of 16 game. Lucky sod. Even if it is costing him 1,700 euros.

If we get drawn in the same group?
If England qualify we will be the Group that plays at Wembley
If Scotland Qualify they will also be in same group

The Groups have been "drawn" already for the 12 host nations

The host cities were divided into six pairings, established on the basis of sporting strength (assuming all host teams qualify), geographical considerations, and security/political constraints. The pairings were allocated to groups by means of a random draw on 7 December 2017. Each qualified host country will play a minimum of two matches at home. The group venue pairings is as follows

Group A: Rome (Italy) and Baku (Azerbaijan)
Group B: Saint Petersburg (Russia) and Copenhagen (Denmark)
Group C: Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Bucharest (Romania)
Group D: London (England) and Glasgow (Scotland)
Group E: Bilbao (Spain) and Dublin (Republic of Ireland)
Group F: Munich (Germany) and Budapest (Hungary)

For host teams which have qualified, or may qualify through play-offs, they will be drawn into the groups based on the host city pairings.
If both host teams within one group qualify directly for the final tournament, a draw will decide which team host their head-to-head match.
If any of the host nations are in the qualifying play-offs, and there are groups which cannot be finalised at the time of the final tournament draw, another draw will be held after the play-offs on 1 April 2020.

So you may have to wait until 1 April 2020 to really know who England play

Some people on Twitter saying they can't afford their tickets, one thought he'd only get 1 or 2 in his application, but ended up with them all, costing nearly £4k, and can't afford it.
Several I have seen that have said they can't afford it meaning those that missed out, and could afford it, suffer for their idiocy.

How does that work then? What if you've got tickets for Wembley and the match moves to Hampden?

The matches and their venues are already decided. The other 2 teams in the group would play at Wembley in that instance.

Don't think they were necessarily idiots...

We know 2m applied for the final. Say 80000 tickets up for grabs gives odds of 25/1. I can count on the fingers on 1 finger how many times I've had that come in, but it does happen.

Say there was less demand for each lower stage. Call it 15/1 for the semis, 10/1 for the 2nd round and 5/1 for the group games

Final & Semi Final: Odds ~ 350/1 say a no-hoper winning a golf tournament
Final & both SFs: Odds 6000/1 Leicester winning the league

After that, we get into having a pint with Elvis & Nessie territory. So assuming that WON'T happen wouldn't make you an idiot

Now the evidence of the twitter bod not being able to afford it after having been successful in all 7 plus me getting 6 out of 7 ordering top range plus my mate getting 0/7 ordering the cheapest suggests that the odds for getting the expensive seats were way odds-on. But who knew that?

So the moral of the story is, if you can afford the tickets, get your wallet out at the get-go

It's not about odds though, is it? It's like putting a silly bid on e bay not thinking you will win it, but then being obliged to buy it when no-one else bids, saying 'Oh I didn't really want that and can't pay''

I'm afraid idiocy is exactly the right word imo - people with sense don't commit to paying for something they can't afford.

In my email from UEFA saying I was unsuccessful they add that not everyone who has been successful will actually buy their tickets (much as you've outlined) and that those who have been unsuccessful will have first dibs on any such tickets.

Six of us applied for three tickets each, and ended up with 15 altogether. So that's nine going back into the pot. There must be many more like that. I'm just surprised that it's so long until the second round of sales, though I guess they want to wait until after the draw. We don't care who we see, just going for the ride and a few beers.

Yes it is all about odds. Very much so.

If I think the chances are slim of getting a ticket for one games out of 20 being played. I might apply for 5 with the expectation of getting 0 or 1. If I get 5 then that would be very lucky, or perhaps "unlucky" StevieSteve set it out very well I thought.

Managed to get 2 tickets to Hampden group game (Eng / Sco group), 3 tickets to Dublin RD16 (Eng if group winners) and 3 tickets to St Petersburg QF (Eng if group runners-up and win RD16 game)

I'll be getting married three weeks before the first game though, so not sure the new wife will be pleased with me doing three separate weekends away immediately after!

Just tell her that your popping out for a pint of milk then return three weeks later! That will set the rules for your future happiness together. If however it goes tits up don't blame me.

I've managed a few trades of spares so now I'm looking at:

2 X Wembley group games
1 X Amsterdam group game
1 X Wembley last 16
1 X Rome QF
1 X Wembley SF

Got home last night and told the wife. She was less than impressed. I said 'you should be pleased for me, many people got nothing' to which she responded "then I'm pleased for 'many people's wives."

Oh well.

Got email today saying that I was able to buy tickets.....

Buy tickets now! First come, first served.

Yes, you read that right! You can buy tickets now for the biggest EURO ever!

Act quickly. We expect tickets to sell fast!
Logged on and after waiting 90 minutes to finally get access (they were seemingly limiting access to save the server), I managed to find out that the only games that had tickets remaining were group games in Baku, 1 group game in Glasgow and 1 QF, again in Baku..... Seems like no one wanted Baku.......

Anyway, finally got a ticket and heading to Glasgow now next year. First time experience for me though doing it alone.....
