I’ve probably said this before but I found it really difficult to warm to Konsa.

Clearly had talent that needed to be nurtured but very much the archetypal modern day footballer. He seemed to have little personality or enthusiasm for playing for Brentford.

It all felt very much like a short-term marriage of convenience - him ‘doing his year’ before moving to the PL - which is exactly how it turned out.

Very different from, say, Pinnock who came up through non-league and clearly loves playing for us and has loads of enthusiasm.

Sam Tillen was very good for a year or so.
Not sure why he lost his place, I always thought he was a good player. Looking him up I see he went on to have a career playing in Iceland and is coaching there now.
In the crowd scene of former Bees who have gone on to play in the Premier League in recent seasons I would never have rated Konza above Tarkowski, or Mepham come to that. Then, I saw Egan and O'Connell as journeyman CBs suitable for mid-table Championship at best so what do I know?

Presumably more £££ coming our way if so?
Unlikely. EZ had a buyout clause. AVFC triggered that clause. No extras. Probably a sell on, hopefully?!
