If I thought I coud get a ticket (unlikely), Id love AFC Wimbledon away - new ground, every chance of winning, easy to get to.

I was thinking of going to their 2nd round game vs Cheltenham on Saturday, but decided against last-minute. Regret it now, since it was a 7 goal thriller.

My first ever away game was my 16th birthday at Swindon in 1982/83 FA Cup 2nd round. We were 2-0 down late in the game and got 1 back, then pretty sure it was Gary Roberts got a last minute equaliser. Me and mate were so excited to be in the 3rd round draw and them days the draw was on the radio just after the games around 5.30pm. We drew Aldershot at home, we dreamt about the 4th round. Of course typical Brentford we lost the replay 3-1 in a tasy encounter in the pouring rain. Somehow things are a little different this 3rd round draw.
Was that the game which had loads of rucks outside afterwards, or am I thinking of one of our trips to the County Ground in the late 70s? Swindon always had vile supporters.

Harrogate or kiddy at home and the bigger sides paired against each other (Man City vs Liverpool etc). We can win this cup!

A last game of the season at the County Ground in 1980 ??? 81???? A 0-0 I remember.
Loads of trouble before, during and after the game.
I remember a removal van.
The cup game at GP saw Terry Hurlock get sent off really early and, as already mentioned, Tony Mahoney breaking his leg.
Sadly never the same again.

We did. Took a sickie to go there that day too. Back at 4am in Highbury.
Luckily we were still drinking in Barrow with people who 6 hours earlier tried to hurt us in the car park, one of the best nights ever when the loss stopped hurting and the locals calmed down.
No idea how you lot went straight home after that sh*t.

Yes, I have vivid memories of this game. Got jumped outside after the match and took a few punches. Laying down wedged between two parked cars, I was approached by a concerned Swindon fan who asked whether I was OK. When I said yes, he said 'well you're not now' and booted me in the face, squashing my nose. Dirty inbred f***ers, they are.

Is it just me...but not the same excitement/anticipation as when we were in the lower divisions and (occasionally) made it through to R3? Well remember Norwich away. But hey-ho, guess that's where we are now. Port Vale will see this as a massive free shot.

Moody old bill and locals. Great away end though.
Yes, I remember. I don't think I saw a single shop that was open, everything was boarded up.

Burslem, what a place, 2nd hand hoover shops, shame as that normally tells you what a place you’re at.
It’s another one of those industrial towns that has struggled in recent times. Remember being surprised at the numbers in their firm and their main bloke who used to go to England games was a great big bald geezer with a spiders web tattooed on his head.
