We went to a Jazz Brunch at the Brighton Festival Spiegeltent on Sunday.

Host was 85 year old Herbie Flowers ex Sky, (band not tv channel!) and Blue Mink. Session musician on more than 500 hit singles over the years.

The first thing he said?

"I was in tears yesterday when Brentford got promoted....the last time I was in tears was way back in 1947 when they were relegated from the old First Division".

I had no idea he was a Bee!

He is still an awesome musician !
If he has a first edition vinyl of Only When I Laugh then he can have a ticket.

He also played on "Back Home" by the 1970 WC squad. Never out of work Herbie. Prog rock fans will be familiar with his work with "Sky".
and you can see and hear him (just about still standing...) every Sunday 11am for Jazz Brunch at Brighton Spiegeltent until mid July.

ps I remember Sky as being classical fusion? John Williams? But many moons ago when we had Jackie Graham leading our line-up😉

There will now be loads of A list all the way through to Z list celebrities emerging from Gunnersbury Park, claiming they’ve supported us all their lives.

They’ll claim a connection by saying that my limousine driver once went through Hounslow, although I wasn’t in the car at the time!😂

They’ll be phoning the club saying can you get me a ticket and for my fellow hangers on for the Man. City match etc..!
Commentary teams throughout all media will be saying "I always knew Brentford could do it”, despite archive evidence to the contrary.

True Bees fans who’ve gone through the ups and downs of life in the lower leagues deserve the real accolades, not the ‘Johnny come lately’ brigade, who’ll disappear back to Gunnersbury Park, as soon as the going gets tough!!!

The female ring announcer of WWE (wrestling) UK branch, although I forget her name. I remember last season she was up in arms about Ricos red/non red from Mr Stroud at Swansea.

Francesca Brown, although it looks like she's a 2 team lady and has a soft spot for Arsenal as well

You are probably right but I just don't get why the Premier League is so much more interesting than a league below for some. But I suppose their interest in football is much less than the average Football League supporter.

When I scanned the photo (w.o. reading the text) I thought the guy on the left was Barry Davies:

I mean, "Look at his face, just look at his face!"
Ahh Barry Davies! I remember him doing Match of the Day once, and he said, “for those of you watching in black and white, Coventry are in the yellow shirts.”

She is actually an Arsenal fan but her old man is a big Brentford fan (think he lives or lived in Brentford) and Brentford is her second club. Used to go regularly to Brentford games sitting in the new road. She is a Katy Perry lookalike.

I’m pretty sure I was standing behind Krishnan Guru-Murthy when I was collecting my ST pack in the Legends lounge yesterday.

I see Greg is on the phone to the police anti-harassment section
If anyone knows his whereabouts it would be nice to be in touch again with Ian who I worked with many years ago at Northern Assurance company in Rayners Lane. Last saw him at a reunion some years back. Believe he worked for Clerical Medical

Not sure if already posted but spotted Krishnan Guru-Murthy in the South Stand against Arsenal. Think he’s a good thing so would be good if he is a Bee

Think I heard from him himself that he's a new ST Bee 'cos he lives local so why not.

Presumably the type of person the Marketing Dept were targeting to get up to 10000

Hopefully he is so won over that he comes along for many years to come

Comedian Shappi Khorsandi owned up on the (excellent) Mark Steel podcast to being a gloryhunting convert to the Bees.
Often see her shop at the co-op supermarket on South Ealing Road with her infant daughter.

Kate Beckinsale went to the Latymer sister school Goldolphin and grew up in Chiswick. So did Sophie Ellis Bextor but I think we’re clutching at straws here. Hugh Grant grew up in Chiswick and supports Fulham…the ****.
