Thank goodness we have at least one erudite and literary poster on this board!

I was beginning to despair that my reference was a bit too "Jude" for everyone...
Maybe, but I'm afraid my knowledge of the first line of Hardy's Return of the Native comes from Monty Python rather than from actually reading the book.

Thanks for that! :sorted:

As a fan of both Hardy and Python, I can't believe I'd never heard that sketch before, but it's bloody good, at any rate.

If she’s chanting it regularly though, day and night apparently, surely it’s Alice in the wrong here.
Also a very good point, and well made.
This is getting complicated........

I often mutter it to myself at various times of the day to be asked did you say something - no dear.
That sounds plausible.
But I'd suggest that a "mutter" and a "chant" are 2 entirely different things.......

You don’t ‘have to have it!’ Sometimes “you”, others “the”.
Monophonic Gregorian for preference.
😁
My suspicion is that the use of "you", severely outnumbers "the".......but we'll leave it there......😁

Great news. I know how I'd feel if we lost one of our 2 in those circumstances. Hope the 6th is found soon.
Its honestly one of my worst nightmares to lose a dog like that. I know there is lots of much bigger and uglier stuff going on in the world but I'm genuinely so pleased they have all been found.

Spider-Man's uncle is a Bee? Uncle Ben? I wonder what happened to him. Maybe Marvel ought to do some kind of Spider-Man origin story to explain...
He set up his own food company which does rice and sauces to name a few things
