Welcome Farid. May we see plenty of coin kissing

Welcome Farid, really hope you can be our next goal machine.

I think the club will miss a trick if it doesn't sell some fist sized replica coins. Bees badge on 1 side and a picture of Farid on the other. Good little earner for the club (especially if he scores loads and we sell loads of coins) but also can boost the rapport between the fans and the squad and improve the atmosphere around GP in the same way Owusu's “Raise the Roof” used to. Putting a bit of the limelight on Farid may also take the weight of Donaldsons shoulders and allow him to shine.

You'll be ever so pleased you signed Farid. Even more pleased when you've sampled a Smiffy Burgher.

27 years old I see, so this guy is more of a "finished article" than a "rough diamond", hope he finds his shooting boots early on.

What I've already said and remains my main thought on this is...

watching him and Donaldson up front next season will be either really exciting or really frustrating...
thta's if we do play the 2 together.

Sitting here in sunny Corfu round the pool with a cold Mythos, just got talking to a Falkirk supporter (didn't know there was any) he is fuming that he's gone, he said we will have a very good player who should fit in well and score goals, sounds a good bet for us, Oh well back to the pool!!!

Getting there in terms of personel for the new season....mid-field's looking good, defence might need one ot two extra, strikers one more. A month and a half to go, not looking that bad...

Hopefully he'll do the business, but I wouldn't expect him to bang them in on a regular basis right from the off (adjustments to the league ect, new environments) so I hope that expectation isn't thrust upon him too much. Not a bad signing though, if we can't afford the better known hitters in England than going for more obscure players with potential is a good way to go forward.

Welcome aboard though!

Come across well in the interview - likes to 'have a war everyday with defenders'.

Chant/song lyrics?

Bit of a challenge finding rhymes with either Farid or el-ah-la-gooey.

That 'highlight' reel hardly filled me with your confidence. His best moments and he keeps overhitting passes, losing the ball on the dribble and getting beat by defenders. The two 'shots' on the highlights package are harldly highlights either.

I'm sure he's more than that film suggests.

Looks strong, fast and holds the ball up well.....

Do you mean the old Lonnie Donegan hit 'Sloop John B?
Before your time, I am sure.
Another song the Beach Boys snaffled.
But, yes, it would sound very good:sorted:

You got there before me................ not the best clips you will ever see. Falls over, misplaces 90% of the passes, can't shoot for toffee, can't head it, kicks it straight off the pitch, when he holds it up the ball hits him and bounces to the opposition. I am sure the guy is much better than that.

extract from a falkirk fan..

if youre a brentford fan i can honestly tell you you've signed an absolutely class player, dont expect fancy flicks and quality passes, hes a complete target man, wins every header, hes amazingly strong aswell! i've met him like five times, pretty much everyone in falkirk has you always see him up the town on weekends! going to miss him :(

:bound: :bound:

Tricky to tell whether he'll be a good partnership with Donaldinho.

Nice to0 see a forward signed - But Falkirk would probably struggle in the Blue Square so lets hope he can step it up. - He will of course have far better players around him so it should not be a problem.

I think you're being harsh . He lost the ball a couple of times and ran back to try to win it back and succeeded .If the optimistic shot had gone in it would of been a Balotelli .Celtic are better than us ,I think he did ok on that brief showing

He takes his goals well and looks to be very alert - But watch the footage again - And this time watch the defending.
Paul ,watch the clip against Celtic rather than the ones played out to one man and his dog

In the Celtic highlights he looks good in the air, holds the ball up very well and works incredibly hard. Chasing lost causes and my personal favourite is just before the minute mark when he loses the ball and then runs 25 yards to win it back. Excited.

I like the fact we have signed a player who appears to love every facet of being a footballer, whether it be on or off the pitch. Hope he does well for us

Good in the air, which is a definite plus. But - has to be said - the defending is so dire that most of them are free headers. I suspect it will be a big step up. Donaldson scored a zillion goals against better defenders than those before he came to us and we all know how hard he's found it to score at a higher level.

Yes but how many times have we seen poor defending teams and not had the strikers to capitalise on it??

This chap has two feet can jump and heads the ball well. He looks fast knows where the goal is plus he appears brave(puts his head in where it hurts). In addition he is a showman and our supporters will love him for that.
My gut feeling is that he will make the grade and score well in this division (well up for the challenge!) Hope he does well for him and for us!

Not Gonna judge until I have seem him play in League 1. The highlights are from a league on a par with the Nationwide South and Celtic are Championship at Best. Massive step up for him but In Uwe we trust.

The videos show he definately knows where the goal is when the ball is in the 6 yard box. How many times in recent seasons has the Ealing Road gasped in anguish as a great delivery has come into the box with nobody in a bees shirt to meet it? Whether he can cope with the challenge against the tougher and better organised defences of league one it is impossible to tell at this stage.

Off the pitch, his character and appetite for the game seemed to have made him a cult hero in Falkirk, and we all hope he can create the same impression with us.

Just throwing this out there, but does this sort of signing show the new regime are becoming more pragmatic with their football philosophy? Just seems that this kind of player may have been suited to AS's type of football than the new more attractive on the deck football now trumpted at the club.

He seems to have a turn of pace, is strong, wins headers and likes to shoot. If you like, he's a Gary Alexander but with a new clutch and bigger engine. I think that he could turn out to be a handful if he concentrates on getting in the box. He knocks defenders about and I like that [ a lot]:)

Uwe talked of the need for a physical presence up top last season - I don't think the two systems are completely uncompatible
