If you had been born a couple of years earlier you would have caught us in the top flight last time around! :D :D

But tell me honestly - in those 66 years has there been a better time being a Brentford fan?

Never - this season has been a roller coaster ride which unfortunately stopped short of its destination - but kick start it again and hopefully next time round it will finish the course.:D: :sorted:

Football is a much changed game now from when I was in my youth - some changes for the good and some not but the quality and style now is breath taking at times - just need some consistency.

Mods... I'm going to sign off in a minute. I don't envy your job. I'm going to stay well out of it. But please, close down threads like this as soon as they appear. Shameful respect for the efforts of our boys this season. Not easy gpgers, but keep your dignity, and praise the boys for what they have given us this season. Onwards and upwards,

Fulham were better but not by much. It was a very scrappy game. I am concerned that relegated clubs arrive in this division loaded with cash. Two out of three immediately promoted and the third just one game away.

You can see after a few minutes what sort of performance we are going to get. Started slow tonight and nothing got better.
Against Swansea we started at 100mph and that continued. Its been like this for a long time.
Maybe Mr Caulfield has the answer.
Couldn’t agree more mate. I *knew* we were in trouble from about 10 mins in and was sure by 25. Its strange what sort of bees performance comes out and more importantly why

Same here. Sloppy passes, miscontrol, unforced errors, all the same signs as v Barnsley.

I think in the month ahead we need a new tactic to combat teams that overload the midfield against us. If we stick with a 4-3-3 then I'd like another Norgaard type player alongside Norgaard to win that battle.

We need to win the fight first and then play.

I was at the box park and sad to say Bees fans fighting each other , why does this always happen these days ???? Depressing
I've been saying for the last couple of seasons that we appear to be attracting an unsavoury element to come and support us, especially on the Ealing Road.

We might have a "no dickheads" policy regarding the players, sadly it doesn't appear to cover so called "supporters"!

Flat beer moment. (See thread title). When Fulham were containing us and Nørgaard is clearly fouled just outside of the area in front of goal and didn’t even appeal. I Fulham needed anymore encouragement.
It’s clear now that Emiliano’s statement galvanised Fulham. Fine margins yes. Out- manoeuvred, by “fine margins”.

Any team that set up to press us high up the pitch or overload the midfield will stop us playing out from the back & result in us hitting long balls, You're right, it is obvious from very early on how we are going to perform.

I hated knowing that we were almost certainly going to lose 15 minutes in. Fulham were very poor going forward thankfully which got us through 90 minutes. Outsmarted by an average team which has happened too many times and ultimately cost us promotion.

It was a pretty shocking game of football - it wont be remembered by many neutrals. Settled by a 1 in a 100 free kick. Two poor teams where unfortunately we were slightly worse.

Cant see Fulham or West Brom staying up for long - one of them will almost certainly be coming back down next season. Lets just hope we are taking there place.. we could be playing in the Premier League (with a crowd) this time next year! Onwards!

Yep - what a comedown. From being headlines on every sports website and newspaper for a week, right up to Sky Sports' incredibly biased pre-match build up. Everyone wanted to know about BFC and what they were going to do in the PL/ More positive publicity than we have probably ever had. RIght down to just a few hours later & what feels like nothing. The original hero to zero!

Finding out ten minutes ago that we scored. My telly went off before the second goal reached the net.

I only found out early this morning reading either This or Facebook. I stormed out the pub and went home and turned off phone in a huff

Aamulehti, my local newspaper here in Finland, featured almost 2 pages for Brentford last week, before the 2nd Swansea match. They were mainly writing about Benham and Ankersen and the whole Brentford system and thinking of football. Nothing new for me but probably increased interest towards Brentford among Finnish football people.
