At the food outlet by N124 just now, a very annoyed 'gentleman' who wanted to pay by cash. He was told cashless stadium due to covid... (implying other things as well). "There's no Covid..." and went off in a big strop. Presumably a first timer, but wouldn't anyone going to any stadium for the 1st time check up on things...? Just saying, like... .

Bad information really as it was always going to be a cashless stadium COVID or not.

The non vegan sausage roll at £4.50 I’m eating right now is one of the worst things I’ve ever had.

One of my mates was served a hard banquette - he wasn’t happy at all. Just looking at it made me yikes.

I had chilled white wine again. I really wanted to tell them not to chill the wine. But I’m fussy like that so ignore me :)

I made that mistake at the Oldham game. Still got the heartburn to show for it.

What is a banquette? I actually googled it and it doesn’t sound edible !?

Yes and they are not very nice. Why no Vegan Pies anymore?
The veggie pies were really nice. Confused why they stopped

I had the vegan rolls last time and they are awful for the price. I had the falafel today which was atrocious. I won’t be eating st the ground again which is fine for me, I can make alternatives but bit of a shame

Yes it is a shame.

Chicken Pasta salad, smoothie and crisps for me today...£3.50 from Sainsbury. I want to support the club but too expensive and largely unenjoyable.

I can always smell them when I cross the junction but it’s very dark where they’re located and no obvious signage. Is it just a burger they sell and how much?

Was in North Stand yesterday for 1st time. Forgot the Samosas stall was based there and tried for a pie from outlets in stadium. None, so got a vegan sausage roll. Greasy, small and expensive. 3 out of 10. Walked further in and then saw the Samosa stand and came back at half time and had 3 veggy ones. Really good. Hot and liked the sauce that was served with it. 9 out of 10.

The tea from the official outlet at £1.50 was really good. Tetley I think it was.

Tried a hot dog & coffee for first time yesterday.

Hot dog roll was rock solid and in 2 parts made it difficult to eat.
coffee was so hot difficult to drink . Boiled water ruins the taste of coffee.

my wife said her tea was very good,

I was thinking of getting a Hot Dog, but then saw the state of them and decided against it.
Sounds like I made the right choice.

How do these choices get made? Surely someone at the club asks around to see what the food is like? Is it a bit like the club shop where it is just seen as a problematic area?

Contracted out and left to 'experts'.

It sells and probably has a high profit margin (esp those w***y little sausage rolls at £4.50 a throw), so I doubt we'll see any changes to the poor offering this season.

They cant make any profit margin if for every one they sell, the customer decides “never again”. I can see their contract being very unprofitable. And who wants to drink beer in the concourse with inedible food, when there are many more attractive options?

I was going to say the same thing. It may work in short term then people get wise to it. Ten times harder to tempt them back if they break the habit too

This thread is like groundhog day! The majority complaining about the cost and poor quality of the food. And then more people chip in to say they've bought said food and go on to criticise the quality and cost! Anyone that pays skywards of £4 for a sausage roll needs to get their head examined. Simple solution - don't buy any of it and they will have to do something about it.

I think some believe that the yellow one can do something about it if people moan about food on here often enough

I havent had one but if your that desperate for a sausage roll. Go to greggs before the game! You can get four at 66% of the price.

Samosas are a great addition to the North stand.
Veggie for the kick on a cold day.
Lamb the most popular
Chicken for variety.
6 quid for 3 - for the group of us yesterday - one each - ideal.

Well said.

It actually surprises me that...

a) The North and West stands are largely ST holders that go to every match and yet they are still selling enough to not force a rethink, and
b) The same food is being sold at other stadiums vanillarising the whole experience of awaydays.

I don't really drink so cannot empathise with the comments about the brew but the food is very disappointing.

Chilled red wine is more of a problem. White wine should be properly chilled. Hope this helps.

The beer in the upstairs bar of the West Stand was atrocious on Saturday. Both the London Pride and the lager were coming out flat and stale, they really need someone to tell them to clean the beer lines out cos it's effing horrible and I'm not spending any more of my hard earned on that pish until they sort it out.

Surely if you're served a bad pint you either insist on a decent replacement or a refund at the point of service - I've never had more than a mouthful of bad beer & certainly never paid for it.

Might not be as straightfoward as that when you have to battle back through the half-time queue.

Agree,I have tried the Pride and Guinness and both very poor quality and overpriced.Don’t bother using the Dugout bar anymore.

If you're at a bar you've never used before / don't trust, take a mouthful before paying, if it tastes off insist on a replacement, if they don't exchange for a decent pint, don't pay!

This is probably more significant than the other bars because dug out seats and access to the bar cost extra and the club gets that money for the facility even if you don’t buy any drinks. Same solution though!

The Grolsch in the North Stand, which has tasted like a pint of farts up until recently, actually seemed pretty decent on Saturday. Either that or my palette is adjusting to said delicacy.
