You can only assume wrong then mate ,I was there and they played us off the park. But they don’t play like that every week. Were you at Charlton, where we played them off the park and lost. Were you at go when a fluke goal by Forrest gave them the win again after we played them off the park. I stand by my comment.
I've only missed a couple of home games.

So I agree Bees have been outstanding this season. And I wouldn't argue with the claim "best in the division".

But "a country mile" ahead of Leeds?

Careful, or you'll start to sound like one of their fans.

A slow start to the season cost us the Championship title.
No doubt (esp the defeat at Elland Road in our 4th game).

But if we'd had a decent start, shot par for the course, say, that still wouldn't leave us "a country mile" ahead of Leeds right now.

I thought our Boys were good as per my posts. Just like to add that the Wigan left back had a really good game. I would also like to wish Paul Cook the very best. A good guy that talks a lot of sense, he says it as it is. Good luck to Wigan fc.

Made it look easy...the admin situation must have knocked Wigan for 6 as they were dire...just need to keep winning and hope wba draw atleast one and then QPR can do us a favour!

Realistically if we are not above West Brom come the last game of the season, top 2 will be night impossible. I honestly can't see how QPR can get anything from West Brom. They are dire and will have nothing to play for. I won't go into the Warburton factor also.

If we didn’t concede late at home to brizzle sh*tty we would be 2nd right now..

Add to that how many shot did we have against the following teams early this season
Birmingham
Charlton
They both had only one telling shot ,
So you could add another 6 points to our total

And the clear penalty that wasn't given at WBA

But every team has these "what ifs". No good worrying about it. Just got to keep winning.

If we’d had Pontus during February we would be top 2 now! Players playing very well, but he makes this team click!!

Outplaying a team and losing to their only chance is not unlucky, it's bad play tbh. Having a key decision not given a vital game is unlucky so the West Brom game is probably the one we should be most frustrated about.

Maybe the club will propose no Bees fans allowed at any games, even when lockdown is over.......

...does any club in the premiership really 'need' supporters.

I know you get a different feel on the TV compared to being in the ground....but I didnt think we got out of 3rd gear today. And we beat at a canter a team who hadn't let a goal in for 7 games.

We cruised, I think the form team of the division had one shot all game and we could have had 8.

Possibly the most impressive thing today (amongst a load of impressive stuff) was the way we played out from the back and around their press.. We didn't have to go long like we did against Leeds, we were really calm and pinged the ball around them with one touch passes at great pace. Really impressive to watch and totally tore apart their gameplan..

And there wasn't even a close call like we get once or twice most games.

I was wondering when the 'if only's' would start. There are loads of them, going back to the first game of the season. There always are. And every other team has them too.

It's been a brilliant season whatever happens. I'd love us to go up but I'm looking forward to more of the same wherever we're playing.

I am really amazed at today's result.

Wigan have not conceded for 8 games.

It was a proper difficult fixture.....on paper

We smashed it.

This!

It’d be amazing if we went up, I think we’d hold our own quite comfortably and (assuming it isn’t all behind closed doors) great to be there at clubs only a few seasons back we’d be hoping to get a cup tie against. But after that, how much fun is it to be aiming for midtable and losing quite a lot? Might it just be a more rarified version of the decades of midtable in the third tier but without even the dream of occasionally breaking into the top 6? Or maybe MB’s magic will have us doing that in the PL.

The last 6 seasons have been largely fun with more or less realistic chances to compete at the top end and staying down would be disappointing but a chance to see how the next generation take us on after Said and Ollie to surprise everyone again by being a threat to the top 6. Either way we win.

Glad that you posted this, I feel that Wigan were a very difficult side to beat. I very much doubt Leeds and WBA would have done better than us today,

Match report in today’s Telegraph.
Reporter John Aizlewood comes up with an appealing alternative to ‘unmarked’.
“Emiliano Marcondes headed on and a LAXLY CHAPERONED Said Benrahma swivelled to guide his....“
Here’s to many more moments of lax chaperoning by our opponents this season.

Since playing us, Wigan have beaten Q*R 1-0 and have drawn 0-0 with Barnsley. That makes the Bees the only team to score against Wigan since February 15th.

This alone underlines the quality of the performance.
