No Raya is the immediate standout; goodnews that Rico starts tho; hopefully his new contract talks are progressing the right way.

Raya's off then?

No Benrahma either.

Not altogether surprising.

Whether the injuries are true or not, clubs must love the thought of playing us first as we never play what is contractually our strongest squad, ie Raya and Benrahm in this case, Maupay last season.

Birmingham are starting Jeacock in goal. He is 19 and this is his first ever senior appearance. Hopefully we can take advantage of this.

Pedersen, Dean, Friend, Clayton, Sunjic, Jutkiewicz, all taking instruction from Karanka. Our players need to be up for a fight for sure.

Whether they play us now or in November we still won’t have Benrahma and we still might miss players through injury. Can’t see it makes a difference?

Football is back already and not a moment too soon. Come on Bees time to avenge last season's travesty of an opening game against this lot.

We need a stronger subs bench, I will be very surprised if that is good enough to reach the top 2 this season.

Hopefully i'm wrong and we add a few too.

Apparently Karanka is willing to learn the Birmingham City way.

Or are Birmingham City going to learn the Aitor Karanka way.

Biggest selection disappointment is that Birmingham picked Karanka as manager. Another blow to this entertainment industry.

Here we go.
We need to reverse last season’s first game result.

Let them have 95% possesion, and we score with a long range looping header.
1-0 to us!!!

It's probably because Ollie should have just put us one up at Arsenal.
