Mentioned on Friday when Reading played Bournemouth that Reading wanted to keep their current squad together for the remainder of the season in order to push for promotion, however if they don't make it they are likely to fall foul of the EFL Financial Fair Play rules ( or whatever) it's now called)

Is that likely to be on wages, thought I saw something Friday that said they had only paid for one or two players that started against Bournemouth

Sorry I don't know the answer to your question Sky commentator just said if they don't get promoted to the Premier League they are likely to be in breach of FFP rules

I think so too BUT how do we bring someone in who is going to add value and depth but not upset the apple cart? Canos and Fosu are on fire at the moment and would be mighty peeved to be pushed down the pecking order which may be counter productive. Its not just a numbers game.

Agree, I'd ideally want another winger in but we are the best team in the league in my opinion and we've just covered the main position we needed to. Just hope it actually translates into promotion this time!

Jannson I doubt will be back much before the season ends. Goode if he has got an illness I doubt he will be back this season. The winger front is a bit scary with Bryan missing at the moment. Pleased we got the CB in, but I felt a winger was just important.

If Bryan's injury is a minor one then I can see no reason at all for signing another player in that position. We have Sergi, T, Bryan and Max. That should be quite enough.

I reckon the B team left back Lewis Gordon is a reasonable option in that position should Rico suffer a small injury.

Just like Janelt, if you can get the right one in then do it. Otherwise wait until the summer. Numbers for the sake of it don't make a better squad.

I heard 8 weeks which would be about 14 games. as for the winger we have three, one injury and they play every week. I just want us with better cover then last year when we played the same 12 players for 13 games and run out of steam.

I'm sure we can cover with one of Ghoddos/Zamburek/Marcondes though. Not ideal but more than probably good enough

They can both go wide too if need be, quick feet and brains and good crossers of the ball.

It's a nice thought, but how realistic is it? We've got so many games coming up, which unfortunately means plenty of opportunities for injuries, suspension and general fatigue. We might lose players at a similar or faster rate to those returning.

I think we're still one or two light considering our position in the table, but I don't doubt we've been active - it looks like the right player isn't out there.

I'd love a winger we are short in that area. The form of Canos, Mbeumo and Fosu has been very good. But where we have been forced to bring on Forss he's had no impact. Not his fault he is a striker not a wide player.
Other than that I think now with Reid squad looks strong.

Almost certainly not the player he was, but I think it shows the DoFs thinking to go out and sign an experienced player to help get us over the line this year.
