He's confused us with Barnsley who are signing a player from the MLS.

Davies is going for £500k plus £1.5m in add ons I believe. He's out of contract in the summer. PNE taken the money.

We could have done Preston a favour by raising the bidding, of course he wouldnt turn Liverpool down but I am not liking the way they can click their fingers and summon players without even paying close to a fair price. I know its Preston’s fault letting him get close to the end of his contract

I guess the issue with getting another left back in is the reality is they're unlikely to make more than the odd appearance unless Henry gets injured. That's a difficult sell....

Yes but we have no back up there. MR and MBS are not a natural replacement. We sent that individual out on loan.

He’ll get a good few games this season and if he does well there’ll be other PL teams to go to. If not, he’ll dine out on having played for one of the biggest clubs in the world, will get a load of cup and European outings, medals etc (plus a hefty wedge).

Few weeks old this now but this says Davies was on £4500 a week at Preston so I doubt very much if he's on £40k at Liverpool but no doubt he's increased his income, good luck to him it's a god temporary move I'd say

That website was debunked ages ago, iirc. The supposed salaries were lifted from Championship Manager or Football Manager (whichever one it was). So take those figures quoted with a pinch of salt.

If we make the PL how many players do we think we would need, assuming we could keep what we have,
some teams have replaced whole squads (eg Fulham) and been relegated once but may just get away
with it this time. Leeds made a few quality signings, West Brom & Norwich did not make many (I think).

If we go up, I think Marcondes, Reid & Jeanvier will go at the end of this season. With Forss, Racic, Goode, & Thompson to go out on loan. I then think we would need 1 striker, an attacking midfielder, 1 wide player, a centre back with pace and potentially a right back (not sure if Roerslev is ready to step up to the premier league). That's provided we can keep hold of Rico and Toney which I'm sure we can with promotion.

Ideally, we need 2 first-team outfielders for each position and 3 'keepers.
It's quite an open question in that the positions the recruitment team believe we need to beef up may not have players available but, on the other hand, there may be players available in positions we think we're strong in... by which I mean that, to meet the maximum of 25 players over 21 years old, there may be unexpected signings.

How can you say that about Reid? You have not seen him play yet, or at least not for any length of time. He is not our player anyway, but he has a wealth of experience, and may well be the right sort of player should he be available to help stabilise our position a a Premier League club.

All the out of contract players will leave of we get promoted IMHO to be competitive at least 5 new incomings - would probably need more strikers as well as Toney and Forss wouldn't be enough in PL

Because he’s not our player - If he gets back to fitness and is a decent option then he may be the defender we need in the premier league, although his wages might still be an issue...

Yes, I have said that he is not our player! He is, back to fitness, he has played matches for Kansas City, and West Ham under 23's, he just needs games in the Championship. My point is providing he has a successful loan he may then just be the player we would need after promotion. His wages will be sorted out in the overall deal - that is if we decide we want him. What I could not understand was why you wrote him off without even seeing him play for us?
