Having seen the debacle over ticket sales for the pre-season friendlies, how confident is everyone that we will get our season tickets before the Arsenal game? Why are they leaving sending them out so late? I see a new disaster looming.

Is this a serious post?

If the worst that can happen is that a few go missing in the post, and their owners have to get a print at home, or turn up at the ticket office before the game, disaster seems like a bit of a strong word.

I think the question is more who comes first another signing , or ST before the Arsenal game

Define ‘a few’.

If 5% of season tickets don’t turn up then that’s a queue of 500 angry customers wanting access to the stadium to watch a game they’ve paid for.

Royal Mail delivery rate is something like 99% so I’m sure all will be fine. As to tickets not working, again I reckon the vast majority will be AOK. I imagine most of the on turnstile problems arise from some sort of print at home related problem.

Just don’t worry about it. If won’t do the blood pressure any good and it won’t have any effect on the outcome.

Let’s hope they are actually valid at the turnstile. Surprised at the lack of mention on here about people not being let in before KO because the club issued invalid QR codes on a handful of tickets.
At least 100 people queuing for reprints at the box office 10 mins before KO.
Shambles.

That's why we had these friendlies, let's hope they know what the problem was and fix it.

why? Difficulty buying tickets from the site vs season tickets getting sent out are not connected.

Good point. What no-one has answered is why are they leaving sending out the tickets until just a few days before the first match. They have stopped selling season tickets and the vast majority have been frozen tickets, so this could have been done weeks ago. I know what you mean, but it seems an unnecessary delay for no good reason. I panic, like I've said on a previous post I get to matches really early in case there are travel problems, but it just seems all so unnecessary. I wish I had the cool heads and faith a lot of you seem to have.

My playoff final ticket didn't scan at the Wembley turnstiles. It happens. I got in.

Good to hear hobbsy 😊
Presumably they’re printed and in the club’s possession.
What date are they due to be posted please?
Yes they are in the clubs possession. All I know they are due to arrive before the Arsenal game!!!

1st class 75% arriving within 1 day (incl Saturday)
2nd class, 93.7% arriving within 3 days (incl Saturday)

They need to get a hurry-up on. Can't rely onRM during Covid times.

The ticket site has been a shambles for about 3 years.
Still not fixed and no ownership of it accepted by anyone at BFC.
You can't blame supporters for getting the jitters.
It's a bit of a scandal that this fiasco has been allowed to go on for so long.

DISASTER??? ffs if that potential scenario constitutes 'disaster' then we have definitely become too comfortable

Yes agreed about the ticketing system, but this was a problem with the Access Control system.

It should be OK unless they contract out delivery to Hermes. As to Saturday's non-scanning ticket issues, an apology from the club would be nice. I missed first 20 minutes and there were still a fair few in the queue behind me. Will go in early next Saturday now which is a pain as we timed our walk from the Nelson to perfection

Yeah ok, probably not the right word, but you know what I'm getting at. I don't relish driving 160 miles and not being able to get in to the match and there are no doubt several others at least just like me. It just seems an unnecessary hassle on top of a ticketing system that does not seem all that good. Still no answer as to why it is all being left so late I note. I have run businesses and been involved in a few other high profile events and I can tell you this, me or my colleagues would view what has happened with ticketing as being pretty close to a disaster in business terms. It has affected income, reduced goodwill and been very negative reputationally. That leaves aside the problems for the real people that matter, the fans. I am not, of course, comparing it to world events, relax.

I do think if any longer serving staff has a quiet reflection to the good old days of League 1 and 2 when all this off field stuff might have been a little more relaxing lol. It must be somewhat overwhelming and relentless at the minute 😀. However folks chill all will be fine on the night 🙂

Very well put.
These are absolutely fundamental issues.
As a club we get so much right but this ongoing farce re the ticket site is embarrassing & let's the business down.
It would be bad if it was the club shop but when it relates to tickets and sales thereof there's surely nothing more important.
Yet nobody can buy tickets online and the stupid website constantly tells everybody everything is sold out.
Yet nobody's arse ever seems to gets kicked over such a long standing issue.
Baffles me

Hang on. Tickets haven't been sold in anger for 18 months and we've not progressed an inch.
Ticket site was a farce before the first lockdown & it's still in the same condition.
There has been 18 months to sort this out & nobody has sorted it

Understand where you're coming from mate. Long commute and all that... Maybe cut our club a bit of slack? We are in a major transitional phase across every department and this was addressed by the CEO in an open letter.. I'm pretty sure that these issues will be pretty swiftly ironed out by the best run club in the professional leagues. Yourself and every other supporter who has bought a ticket will get in, relax.

My worry is I’m away from 7th until the afternoon of the 13th. I’ll have no idea if my ticket has arrived until I return home 3hrs before kick off.

The club won't even tell us when they will be sent, and when we can expect them. It's not a good look.

Given the various complete f***-ups for opening games over the past few seasons, we need certainty. Surely they have a f***ing plan!!!!!

11,000 queueing up on Friday night is gonna need a bigger gazebo!

I was told by a helpful chap from the club that we should expect them in the first week of August

And I was told that all such "indications" were to be ignored and only "it will arrive before the Arsenal game" words are to be used by the club.

I'm in a quandary now... Do I believe a helpful lad in the ticketing office or do I believe a condescending 'iN tHe KnOw' forum dictator... I suppose the first week of August is before the game so everyone's a winner..

I would imagine they intend to send them out this week but the official line is that you will receive it before the Arsenal Game so they have some leeway.

I sense a growing frustration on the gpg. Generally, there is 3 (regular) well known posters in the know. Banana, Hobbsy and Rebus. There are half a dozen others too (which i won't mention).

Personally, I think the club is struggling to cope with the increased demand on the service following our promotion. I appreciate there is mitergation circumstances here, I.e Covid.

Most bees fans know that on the field, recruitment, coaching, medical etc has significantly improved over the last several years for the Prem. But it appears from that the commouinication, commercial/retail, ticketing and food/beverage aspect is still (perhaps) in league 1 (despite our new ground).
