A lot of the controlled street parking around gp is restricted
to daytime Mon-Fri - Saturday afternoons no problems, nor evening games. However I presume restrictions in force although a BH. Any one any ideas to overcome this problem? Public transport is a no no. I know we've had this problem before, but my ancient brain can't remember where I parked previously in similar circumstances. Poor 'ole thing...!

I really need to sort out where I'm parking these days. I feel like the punters in the Lord Nelson pub know me and laugh at me every time I drive past looking for a space before busier games.

i live in Uxbridge and tend to go from West Drayton to Ealing Bdy, then bus it to Brentford.
Takes 40 minutes with no stress.

Might give that one a go sometime soon. I used to tube it from Uxbridge on piccadilly line to south ealing. But after the game it's quite nice to be able to drive home and not have to stand about on train platforms that's all!

If I can't get usual spot I will park in West Cross House car park just off Great West road across from Boston Manor road. Been told no security or barrier on bank holidays and bags of space behind building.

OK, so original plan was leave Somerset about 11:00 am, get up to TW8 about 2:00, park up in Beech Road, walk to game and drive straight back afterwards..........

However, after tonight now looking at 8:00am departure, drive to sisters in Surbiton, leave car there, get K2 to Kingston followed by 65 and straight in The Griffin for pre-match.........afterwards?? COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm in Hillingdon. Gave up driving as parking is a pain so we get a 607 to Hanwell then 195 or E8 it takes about an hour.

The problem is with Hounslow Council, do they consider Good Friday a bank holiday or not, will the pay and display be void. You never know with Hounslow. Anybody let me know, cannot find out on Hounslow website. many thanks.

It will be on the individual parking pay meters, as to when the space (s) are chargable
If in doubt, don;t risk it, park to the North of the A4 and walk !

Check the Hounslow Council website, it will be on there with regards to B/H parking.

The Rules are

IF you are on a yellow line or in a Bus Lane

Then it is a normal Friday

IF you park in a metered area

Check that the meter says Sundays and Bank Holidays no charge

Then you can park there on Friday

Public and bank holiday parking restrictions
The on-street, off street 'pay and display' charges and controlled parking zones (excluding the Twickenham Event Day CPZ) do not apply on public and bank holidays

This is on the council website.

In case anyone's thinking of using the Piccadilly line, I think it won't be running.

PICCADILLY LINE:
On Thursday 17 after 2050, all day Good Friday 18, Saturday 19, Easter Sunday 20 and Easter Monday 21 April, no service between Acton Town and Uxbridge to enable track and points improvement work at Ealing Common. Replacement buses operate. Trains will also stop at Turnham Green during these works, please use the Metropolitan line for travel between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge.

Green Dragon estate - never had a problem parking there before.
I tried that a few weeks ago and turned up at 1PM and found nowhere to park other than the residents only spaces.

I always struggle to park and spend ages driving around so I just settle for the Butts and £7-8. I am hoping it will be free tomorrow being a BH.

You could try the Health centre car park in Boston Manor road opp Brentford station. Need to get their early (before the bloke in the hut turns up to collect the parking fee). I parked there for free against Notts county the other week about 2 hours before kickoff!

Technically it is all residents only parking but I have never seen it enforced.

Have you tried the flats across the road from the health centre? Parking restrictions M-F only so fine for evening games and Saturdays. My original query was for tomorrow, but we were told earlier that most if not all parking restrictions were lifted on bank hols by LBH.

On their website it says (my paraphrase) for yellow lines look at the sign and if normally active on Friday, no different on bank holidays.

Yellow lines and loading restrictions are an in force during the times shown on the relevant sign, even if this falls on a public or bank holiday

Like yellow lines, bus lanes, disabled bays, bus stops, taxi ranks and loading bays are in force during the times shown on the relevant sign, even if this falls on a public or bank holiday
