I decided to play my wildcard, I still have 3 Bees with Ivan, Ethan & Bryan however one ex-Bee Ollie isn’t in my team any more but Said now is.
I am trying to jinx Liverpool by bringing in Van Dijk & Salah. I had 3 West Ham players in my team before so I had to remove Dawson & Cresswell for Said & Antonio. I have also used up all my budget so future transfers will be tricky.

My son’s getting quite excited that I might win him a free copy of fifa 22. The 120 point scorer without his bench is on 89 and boosted teams aren’t eligible for the weekly prizes!
Annoyingly poor return from Fernandes and Sanchez yesterday dropped me a long way. Particularly as I had De Gea and Benrahma on bench who’d have taken me to #2 in the world!

i want to get in Ronaldo and drop de bruyne. But I would need to get rid of Edouard as well. And you're only allowed 1 free transfer a week

Extra transfers are only -4 and CR7 instead of De Bruyne and Edouard, plus a good additional midfielder to complete the change will easily make up the -4 and more.

I had to do something similar to get Ronaldo in and Fernandes out (he’s just not going to get the assists and goals now and played most of the WH game barely in front of the defence). CR7 and Buendia in for Fernandes and Armstrong looked a pretty decent way to spend 4 points! Did it during the WH game so got a bonus £0.2m as yesterday CR7 went up and Fernandes down.

Cool! I hadn't thought of Buendia - but can i get him in the team above gallagher, benrahma, mount, tielemans, ronaldo, toney and saint-maximin. Nice dillema

I’m mildly tempted to go balls out and triple captain Toney v Liverpool.

Come on then, own up - who's picking Mo Salah as captain this week?

Having taken Toney and Mbuemo out of my team for last week and leaving Pinnock on the bench, think it would only bring good fortune if I did.. gone for Ronaldo Vs villa at home however

Dias was my first player I picked and made him captain. Totally vindicated so far.
This week though am tempted to drop Raya for Martinez

Head say yes... Heart says "hold on!"

For me, think it comes down to whether Salah is more likely to score tomorrow rather than Antonio at a Leeds side which has failed to keep a clean sheet at home this season...

Note to self. Never bench Pinnock unless injured.

A middling week for most players, except Robert Page, our GW6 winner with 81 points. Lewis Coghlin remains top of the league.

GW7 deadline is 11am 02/10/21. :king:

I love the way that some of the Fantasy PL fixture difficulty rating tools have now adjusted their assessment of games against us from 'easy' to 'medium'

Bringing back Mbuemo. Think he’s great value and will get goals over the next 4 game weeks

Apologies if somebody has already posted this somewhere but this is a fascinating comparison of Toney and Mbeumo

2 weeks in a row Mr Page scores the highest, 76 points in another tough week for most managers.

We have joint league leaders in Tim Oakes and Lewis Coghlin.

GW8 deadline is 11am Saturday morning.

I've crunched the numbers. The most popular players / manager to make a pun-based FPL team name around in our league.

Ivan Toney 12
Bryan Mbeumo 9
Thomas Frank 8
David Raya 6
Marcus Forss 5
Sergi Canos 4
Mads (various) 3
Kris Ajer 1
Christian Norgaard 1
Saman Ghoddos 1
Josh Dasilva 1
Frank Onyeka 1

And there are 21 teams named some variation on Bees Up Fulham Down. 21.

I might have missed some or not recognised them as puns if they just referenced a player's name or were particularly shoddy.

edit: I've also just noticed the Myles Weston-based team name but for the purposes of this I'm only including current Bees

GW8 wnner was Glenn Joyce with 73 points (its a right old bugger going through the whole list so apologies if I do miss one better at any time)

GW9 deadline is 1830 TONIGHT as Arsenal host Villa this evening.

Nice big Bees feature on the official FPL show this week

Trigger warning for anyone sensitive to the pronunciation of Mbeumo

Ronaldo and Mount sold. Salah and Ings in. Where can it possibly go wrong?

There are some third party tools out there that make this easier eg if you visit livefpl.net you can access additional info on your mini-leagues. My friend also uses an app called "FPL gameweek" which he says is more user friendly, In this case can confirm that 73 was the highest score....though it is common to take points hits in to account for this purpose, I appreciate this is only a bit of fun.

It is possible this only counts the top 200 given the note in the top right corner....not sure.
I remember when there were about 25 in the GPG league, those were the days...

Btw "highlights managers who started" shows the following for GW8, based on 200 managers (possibly the top 200):

Toney 133
Mbeumo 99
Pinnock 45
Raya 24
Jansson 7
Norgaard 2
Canos 1

And past Bees
Benrahma 123
Watkins 20
Maupay 14
Mitchell 1

Apologies if this is not comprehensive

My main quandary is whether to play Ivan or Bryan this week. I’ve benched Ethan though every time I’ve done that he’s had a stormer.

Just looked at your team (you are one point below me).
Conventional logic is to have the cheapest possible players on your bench, who actually play, so as to have more money to pay for your starting XI.

You always have to bench at least one of your 5 midfielders or 3 strikers so you have a difficult decision to make every week if you are always benching one of Mbeumo, Toney,. Sarr etc.
Personally I would look at getting rid of Sarr who has a pretty tough run coming up (or maybe St maximin who still plays for a terrible team for the time being) and replace them with a 4.5 or 5.0 option who you can happily have come off the bench for 2 or 3 points when needed. Because I think you will kick yourself if you are not playing IT and BM every week during our so-called easier run.

I’ve wildcarded this week so my team’s quite different. I think it was a good choice to wildcard as I’d just bought Doucoure and had Lukaku!
