I've been running this forum for over 20 years now. As well as time spent actually running it, I have also paid for the not inconsiderable sums of running-it over that period. This includes: hosting of the servers; bandwidth charges; storage; off-site back-ups costs; email services; software licenses; software support costs. All those services are provided professionally which you will have noticed from the exceptional reliability of the GPG.

I've never asked for any assistance for costs as during that time fans were either throwing coins into buckets, donating money via monthly Standing Orders to Bees United, taking out Bees United Loan Notes and doing whatever else was required to keep the club afloat. After that, Matthew has been pumping in over £100m and it seemed churlish to ask for money when Matthew was parting with so much cash. During the entirety of this time the GPG has remained (despite some 'attractive offers') ad-free. A concious decision that I believe has provided you with a vastly better experience than otherwise. A quick look at other forums will demonstrate that.

Additionally, the GPG has provided fans with
  • Lockdown Zoom Calls with Phil Giles, Thomas Frank, Jon Varney, Kevin O'Connor, Sam Saunders and Martin Allen
  • Hours of footage and thousands of pictures of the new stadium during construction via the Brentford FC Drone;
  • Provided you with the ability to put questions to Matthew, Thomas and others via our regular interviews and meet-ups.
  • The @bfcgpg Twitter account
and we would certainly look to continue to provide similar activities.

Now that the club is financially stable (thanks to you-know-who and our recent promotion), I am asking for some entirely voluntarily donations to defray the costs.

Nothing will change with regards to anyone's access to the GPG regardless of if you decide to support the running costs of it or not.

You can send us money directly to (ideally via a recurring payment) to:
60-00-01
48754145
(Account Name: me)

Alternatively, Buy Me a Coffee is our platform for donations. Please consider setting-up a "Membership" - which is a recurring monthly payment from £2 to £20. Otherwise you can "Support" us by purchasing 1 or more coffees at £2 a time on an one-off basis. For £2 monthly payment please avoid using Paypal as they absorb 25% of such smaller transactions. Consider a annual payment instead, or using Stripe, or a recurring payment as mentioned above)

Buy me a Coffee is available here: The Grapevine is providing a forum for West London Premier League Fans

Thank you.

Is the monthly subscription the preferred option, or does it not matter much? I was gonna just chuck in a one-off, but as you mentioned the monthly thing first, thought I'd ask...

Yes, then you don't need to bother with it again  Thanks.

Out of interest, how much does it cost to run on a monthly basis, and if you end up getting more cash than needed, what are the plans for it?

Paypal only seems to allow the single amount to be £2. I can't commit to a monthly amount because finances change month to month but it would be better to be able to put in a bigger amount.

Can't afford a lot but couldn't be without the wit, the wisdom, the bloody ridiculous, and the occasional pearls... and, of course the comfort of all being in it together.

I haven't tried the "customer journey", but I assume you would have to select how much to donate before selecting Paypal.

Done. Huge thanks for the GPG :owusu:

Obviously donators get advanced level early access for the Man Utd away tickets. I think that goes without saying.

I want to donate a tenner each year (I will put a reminder in my diary). How can I do a one off payment?
Use the "Support" option and choose 5 cups of coffee (y)

Small membership taken out so things need to be different now.

No comments about living rent free in people's heads; what I say about Lost in Translation goes and if Estelle Morris and I both think she's lacking as Secretary of State for Education then she's lacking as Secretary of State for Education.

The email address that is asked for, is that the one that you registered with the GPG?

No. Any email address of your own I guess.

All done!

I've put a comment which I will relay here too. I only came on board to the Brentford way of thinking last year, thanks in part to a friend who suggested I give it a go and get a ST! When I used to follow Scarborough, I was always on the forum and it helped feel closer to the club.

Without GPG I wouldn't have been half as invested as I have become, which has made the journey and experience even better. I personally cannot wait for the rest of it, rain or shine.

I know some of you are not a fan of people like myself, but I want you to know I'm here for the long haul and to be a proper part of things!

Division one membership for now as my poor mind can't accept that we're successful. 40 years of watching at that level takes a toll. Does that mean I own a piece of the gpg now?

Due to age / work circumstances can keep my donations to Bees United or switch to the GPG. Or split it 50/50? Not talking a lot of money mind!

Er…… it’s 16p a day. That’s 75p less per month than one Tesco’s Finest Victoria Sponge Cake.

If you can’t afford that, you can’t afford electricity, which makes me wonder how you connect to the GPG in the first place.

Done. I have put a reminder each 2nd June. However one suggestion you might consider is each 2nd June is you post a reminder for all us one off donators. A bit like James Whale does for Wikipedia.
Only one more thing for you to remember 😜

Netflix, Sky Sports, Amazon Prime, The Athletic - all things I pay more for every month than the GPG but use considerably less.

In this year of not having to pay for a ST for Premier League football for many of us a monthly donation is the least I could do for everything this place has provided me over the years 👍
