Are you asking me? No, nothing has changed this end. So unsure what may have occurred here.

No idea what's happened but it would appear to be between you and Paypal (e.g. has your card that you used to pay via Paypal expired?)

Anyway, if you could re-subscribe then that would be appreciated :)

ok - re-added payment type - no option to use paypal.
Ahhhhh, BMAC no longer use Paypal!

Don't forget you can set-up a STO direct to the GPG bank account, details in first post of this thread.

Hi The Grapevine,

I’m Jijo, founder of Buy Me a Coffee. I regret to inform you that we’re discontinuing our partnership with PayPal. This means that PayPal payments will eventually be unsupported on the platform. I’m reaching out because we can see that PayPal is your only selected payment method, and your earnings will be affected. We’ve made it easier for you to choose an alternative payment method:

  1. Go to your Buy Me a Coffee dashboard.
  2. Select Payouts tab from the Settings page.
  3. Choose Stripe or the Standard payout. Both of these options are reliable and cheaper than PayPal. Once a payout method is enabled, your page will be ready to accept credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
With Stripe, the money will go directly into your bank account within two business days. Stripe is available in 40 countries.

Standard Payout can be enabled in one click, and we will start accepting payments on your behalf. You can withdraw the balance to your bank account (in over 150 countries) any time you like.

We are as distressed as you are because of PayPal’s decision and have tried everything in our power to avoid this over the past few months. I wanted to address this issue personally because you, as a creator, mean everything to us, and we know what every coffee/support means to you. We understand if none of these options work for you, but this is the best we can do at this moment.

Please refer to this live FAQ Page for additional guidance. It's a living document and we'll add more questions as we hear them.

Regards,
Jijo

If you want to use BMAC rather than set-up at STO then here is how to change your membership from Paypal

Can I recommend the STO, as was very easy to set up, especially if you do internet banking. If we are to fund Nanas PL-ready yacht, then would far prefer that 25percent doesn’t get eaten up in charges along the way. And if we are to spend £30m on transfer targets he may need to chip in at some point !

I've been running this forum for over 20 years now. As well as time spent actually running it, I have also paid for the not inconsiderable sums of running-it over that period. This includes: hosting of the servers; bandwidth charges; storage; off-site back-ups costs; email services; software licenses; software support costs. All those services are provided professionally which you will have noticed from the exceptional reliability of the GPG.

I've never asked for any assistance for costs as during that time fans were either throwing coins into buckets, donating money via monthly Standing Orders to Bees United, taking out Bees United Loan Notes and doing whatever else was required to keep the club afloat. After that, Matthew has been pumping in over £100m and it seemed churlish to ask for money when Matthew was parting with so much cash. During the entirety of this time the GPG has remained (despite some 'attractive offers') ad-free. A concious decision that I believe has provided you with a vastly better experience than otherwise. A quick look at other forums will demonstrate that.

Additionally, the GPG has provided fans with
  • Lockdown Zoom Calls with Phil Giles, Thomas Frank, Jon Varney, Kevin O'Connor, Sam Saunders and Martin Allen
  • Hours of footage and thousands of pictures of the new stadium during construction via the Brentford FC Drone;
  • Provided you with the ability to put questions to Matthew, Thomas and others via our regular interviews and meet-ups.
  • The @bfcgpg Twitter account
and we would certainly look to continue to provide similar activities.

Now that the club is financially stable (thanks to you-know-who and our recent promotion), I am asking for some entirely voluntarily donations to defray the costs.

Nothing will change with regards to anyone's access to the GPG regardless of if you decide to support the running costs of it or not.

You can send us money directly to (ideally via a recurring payment) to:
60-00-01
48754145
(Account Name: me)

Alternatively, Buy Me a Coffee is our platform for donations. Please consider setting-up a "Membership" - which is a recurring monthly payment from £2 to £20. Otherwise you can "Support" us by purchasing 1 or more coffees at £2 a time on an one-off basis. For £2 monthly payment please avoid using Paypal as they absorb 25% of such smaller transactions. Consider a annual payment instead, or using Stripe, or a recurring payment as mentioned above)

Buy me a Coffee is available here: The Grapevine is providing a forum for West London Premier League Fans
