And so I emerge blinking in the light...Rather than be found by statistical breakdown I'll come forward and say it's a fair cop guv. I would post more but lets be honest there's only so much rabid opinion/strange conjecture/mindless slagging off to go around....By the time i feel inspired to write anything someone else has usually got there first and expressed themselves in such voicifirous terms that it leaves little room for reasoned debate...Personally I think Rosler's great. Benham's done fantastically, it's well worth investing in the long term infrastructure rather than vastly increase the wage bill to unsustainable levels, I'm actually happy as a Bees fan again for the first time in years, I made it to the 1pm kick off, and if we finish top 10 this season, with visible improvement as the season progresses then I for one will be happy.

Oops I'm not fitting in am I? I mean sign a f***ing striker for f***s sake! What is up with our lack of ambition? Why does the club alienate the fans with every single thing they do? (no doubt deliberately) I'm off to watch Hampton instead.

Better?

Let's face it. It is about time that the "silent majority" came forward. AFAIK they are all friends of:

1) Graham Hall
2) Larry Signy
3) blunstone

Otherwise there has been some massive mistake from the club over the years :)

Geez if I'd known it would get this much positive attention I'd have done it a lot sooner...(looks away modestly) But after the adrenaline rush of the debut where do I go from here? It's doing it week in week out that gets you the results and I fear I may lack the temperament to rage unceasingly after each defeat and transfer setback. But who knows, this whole posting thing is becoming quickly addictive! I may yet be dragged into the GPG civil war...

On a serious note it would be a genuine shame if people like Abee felt is was no longer productive to use this forum. There are so many clubs who wouldn't dream of engaging their fans in debate and keeping information flowing. To alienate our sourves with savage and increasingly personal criticism rather than rationally expressing alternative points of view does us and them alike no favours whatsoever.

one of my best mates from back home goes to 20-30 bees matches a year. fanfrom87 kinda reminded me of him - whenever i talk to him, he's really happy, bright and positive about the bees. ok we're not top of the league by 10 points but you can't win em all  he's still enjoying a few beers and a bit of swearing every Saturday :sorted:

this place is horribly melodramatic at times. moribee yesterday - "can you believe they're having curry in the corporate hospitality area?!" - dear god no! where will it end?!

I've posted four times I think - yet look at the GPG hourly - firmly a voyeur I think. To me its like when I used to stand on the Royal Oak as a teenager in the Seventies. I wanted to be close to the action but was too much of a wuss to take part! Living up north now (not Somerset anymore), I probably only get to 8/10 matches a year at GP, but am in the process of indoctrinating my 12 year old son. Have yet to see us score a goal this year - but then again who has!

I'd guess at time of me typing you have posted 16 times.... well, according to the stats within the post (on the right hand side)...

Much better. How dare you come on here with your reasonable statements and common sense. Don't worry though. The GPG is like crack, once you've started to post it's a downward spiral into obivilion and insanity. :crazy1:

I post here a lot because I get bored at work :) It's pretty rare I even check it while at home unless we win a game (Or again I'm bored).

I've gone off the boil myself, most of what I'm thinking is said by one of the eclectic following: NB, Rebus, Owlsmoor, Chorlton, Detours, Nick Logan.

As for outing voyeurs, Bobby Harris has to be one of the biggest

How can I not say thank you for that? I do have one of them addictive personalities so further posts and musings are almost inevitable now...But I shall spread my wings and fly to more mainstream threads now that my blood's up. Wherever a moderating influence is needed, I will endeavour to be there! (Unless its after something like the Huddersfield game when even I thought 'what the f*** am I doing still coming to watch this? If my girlfriend finds out I actually paid for this ticket rather than blagged it off a mate I'm dead. And for what 4 f***ing nil with Jordan Rhodes painfully emphasising the gulf in economic class between clubs like Huddersfield and plucky old Brentford. Will I never learn? I'm a grown man for Christ's sake. How many more years of painful underachivement must I suffer? When's it going to be my time? When??)

Do you know I feel much better for that rant. Two months late but its out of my system. How cathartic. Forget this being reasonable lark, a stream of web based abuse leaves a lovely warm glow. Finally I see the appeal and I'm a convert. Who's gonna be next, Woodman? Osborne? Turnstile operators? Tune in later to find out....

There is wisdom but little understanding of Brentford f.c by many who think they know but do not know and may never find out

But does not wisdom come from understanding? And where does wisdom and understanding come if not from knowledge and information? A forum is by the people for the people after all.

Then again I know and am wise to the fact that Marcus Bean has all the close control and composure of Mike Tindall at 2am in a New Zealand bar, but I don't understand why a professional footballer can't spend more time practicing and then eliminating their obvious weaknesses...

Bless him for his ceaseless effort though.

Anyway back to voyeurs/lurkers. Come on the rest of you, step forward. It's more fun then you might think...How else are y'all gonna exorcise the constant numbing disappointment interspersed with occasional moments of delight that is the result of supporting our little underappreciated club.

For example I'll get this off my chest. Thanks a lot dad for taking me to Brentford first in 1987. 1-0 and an Andy Sinton penalty...He took me to Arsenal two weeks later but the damage was already done...Now I'm f***ing stuck with a permanent love and sympathy for the underdog that's shaped my world view ever since.

What's your excuse?:)

As a habitual lurker, I love the gpg to keep me in touch with what is happening at the club I love but hardly ever get the chance to see play. The match reports are generally really good and even the high level of moaning reminds me of when I used to be in the stands regularly. I am desperately trying to get down to GP over the Christmas period so I can watch the team live and form my own opinion on the Uwe revolution, but until then please keep up the good work all of you.

I would like to post more direct and personal abuse, vitriole and general codswallop but a certain fruity mod would lynch me!
The GPG was better when the likes of Doombee (and his successor) was around!
And given that said GPG'er was castigated on here by so many (and the club) he was not wrong when it came to a certain grey haired **** was he?
Did he receive any apology. Of course not!

Archetypal lurker here. This must be the 10th time I have visited this thread, as it has an obvious attraction. But to reply, of course, is to break the rules of lurking. As a philosophical conundrum, it is up there with Catch 22, "who guards the guards?" and Monty Python's "rule number 6: there is NO rule number 6".

I guess I visit the GPG about three times a day on average (more on Saturdays) and always vote in the Man of the Match poll, without posting on the thread. I have actually managed to post on three occasions without provoking any response whatsoever - probably because I have waited until the thread was running out of steam and dropping off the home page. Let's see if it works this time.....then I can go back to lurking for a few more seasons!
