Presumably these 2 ‘spare’ signs were part of a number of items that didn’t end up being paid for by the winning bidders??.........

Did the BRENTFORD FC sign on the Braemar Road stand not meet it's reserve price?
The signage was still there when I walked passed this morning.

Think so yes
👍
Must admit I was a bit surprised/disappointed that something wasn’t put in place to either automatically take the amount bid from the winners account or to offer the item to the next highest bidder in the vent that payment wasn’t made.
Using what was in place must have resulted in the club missing out on a fair amount of cash, (and dumping some items) and also a number of disappointed bidders.......

Agreed - sounds like there were a number of items that no one turned up /paid for. Based on them trying to pass me off various other signs when they thought they had lost the one I purchased.

Club must have missed out on a fair bit, and sadly binned some items that lots of supporters would have loved to take.

Yeah, all pretty frustrating, although as predicted tbh.......

Nope. Asked the club about it and apparently it would cost a lot to safely remove, hence the high reserve. Shame as would love to have them.

I emailed the auctioneer, they said they are waiting instruction from the club on what to do with the abandoned items.

Hello badger

I think this is happening. The auctioneer contacted me yesterday about an item that I'd bid on but was outbid. The winning bidder must have blown out for whatever reason and I was offered the Lot at the price that I'd bid (if I was still interested). I closed the deal today.

Thanks for that Jim.
I wonder why the same didn't happen to the signs brighton bee was offered??

I guess they had to make a quick decision on what to do when they (wrongly) thought my item was lost-and I was kicking up a fuss as a result. Now they’re contacting people to find homes for items that are still leftover.

Something that may be of interest for anyone who missed out on winning anything...

They thought they had lost my original item so to compensate gave me 2 of the attached signs (not sure what part of the ground they are from sorry):
View attachment 22465

Anyway long story short my original item turned up and has been delivered so I have no need for either of these.

I would like to offer each of them to the two people who are willing to donate the most to this charity:
https://actionwestlondon.org.uk/about/

If anyone would like them post on here or DM me your bid, and in a day or so I will post them out to whoever has the highest bids. If you would like to wait until the sign arrives before donating that's fine.

Hopefully this 'sort of' auction doesn't break any GPG laws!
Donation made, cheers Brighton Bee
