If I owned a classic Merc like that, I wouldn't be parking it next to a demolition site!

I was going to say are we sure that pic isn't from when Arthur Daley came to film at GP!If I owned a classic Merc like that, I wouldn't be parking it next to a demolition site!
Grim.
What an old banger you mean?If I owned a classic Merc like that, I wouldn't be parking it next to a demolition site!
There’s a video on Facebook of Brook Road being dismantled now….. bit by bit the old girl is being stripped and torn apart.![]()
So THAT’S where the LR colour scheme came from
You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!
Good, flatten that 'orrible stand!!There’s a video on Facebook of Brook Road being dismantled now….. bit by bit the old girl is being stripped and torn apart.![]()
Nice W115 (I think...) Mercedes
Come on Paul, you post heartbreaking pictures/videos of the best parts of GP being ripped down but the one awful stand that nobody will miss gets what's coming to it and we cant even enjoy the footage

Form an orderly queue!
Thanks for photo, still cant believe it.. Be great to visit the new stadium 1 day..
That is a hard watch .
The comments from Steve Curran were quite interesting, living with a football ground (I'm only talking semi-pro) at the end of my garden I've missed the hubbub of a game going on the last year or so. Wonder if many other households backing on to GP will miss having it as their neighbour. Those south face gardens on New Road are about to cop a load of more sunlight - I suspect which may have bee a factor in the roof never fully being returned to the back of New Road back in the day.
They must have filmed that Monday or Tuesday as the Breamar Road roof was intact at the weekend
Are my eyes deceiving me or are two of the floodlight pylons gone already?
I think they're gone mate. Are my eyes deceiving me or are two of the floodlight pylons gone already?

That’s exactly right. There’s a small part of me that still thinks it’s a surreal dream (as per the film Inception) and that, when I wake up, GP will be intact and ready for business again. At least my Dad (d. 1985) who was a regular in the pre WW2 days and originally lived a few hundred yards from the ground didn’t get to see this day (although I like to think he would have admired LR too).it's not real, all a dream (nightmare)

Goodbye old girl; it was great growing up with you (nearly 50 years), knowing you & your quirks, learning about you & your past and remembering your best days, as a young 25-35 year old!! Shame you couldn’t host top flight football once again, for one last time.
Time doesn’t stand still though. Time evolves daily, weekly, monthly, yearly and over decades.
The new lady is eagerly waiting for us all to return and for her to embrace our love of the Bees once again. Whatever division we end up in.
Griffin Park 1904-2020.![]()
Would have just liked a last game.I guess our last game at GP could have been like this!!!

'It was like watching your own burial'
On the final day of the Bundesliga season in May 2001, Schalke were champions for four minutes and 38 seconds. It was agony.www.bbc.co.uk
Ran out of time…..You missed out "hourly" and "over centuries"
That’s how I did it, it was so easy to get accessIf you want some salvage from GP, contact the builders, make an appointment and take what you can.
BFC sold the site last year.
6 months later, it's too late to start bashing the club now.
These are the pieces I managed to save from griffin park on my visit 2 weeks ago. In no way did I mean to offend any Brentford supporters when posting on Twitter that I had been successful in getting permission into the demolition site, I just have a keen interest in football stadiums (especially older grounds) But I have preserved the items and made a commerative box for them which I will keep with me forever. I have absolutely no intentions of selling any of the items on in the future. Hope you can understand why I have kept them and why I went down to griffin park.
To be honest I didn’t realise my tweet would reach the Brentford community and how much it would offend… it was only posted for my own personal timeline.Next time you might want to consider not posting it up on twitter publicising what is going on causing it to be shut off to genuine fans.
until you tweeted about it. anyways its happened now, glad you got what you wanted for your collectionThat’s how I did it, it was so easy to get access

You didn't realize a tweet about taking mementos from Griffin Park would reach Brentford fans. Was this your first week on social media?
