It is claimed here that Brentford, Forest and Villareal had offers turned down.

Only Forest bid for this chap. Bees and Villareal bids were for Haissem Hassan.

Concernant le dossier Hassan, sans préciser les montants, Aldo Angoula a précisé que « deux offres, également insuffisantes, ont été reçues émanant de Villaréal et Brentford »

WRT the case of Hassan.... two offers, also too low, have been received.... etc

This is one that looks as it it will be difficult to land. He has turned down Monacco already, and it would appear that several Spanish clubs including Valencia are attempting to sign him. Looks as if he could be a good catch.

I guess our reputation for bringing on young French talent might help? The issue with Monaco seemed to be that he'd be going out on loan straight away.

Quite agree. McFarland will have to earn his corn on this one. It also tends to support the view that we are paying big bucks for some of our present crop of 'B' Teamers. The days of collecting a few young lads from the local rec are long gone.

Not entirely, we've just shifted our attention to France for the time being. Kouts and Crama came from nowhere basically, but yeah, they're proper signings, not schoolboys who've brought their mates along to a trial.

Yes, however, I doubt that they came for free, not quite from nowhere, but I know what you mean. Not that I am in any way a particularly good Judge but Kouts looks to me a top class prospect at Centre Back, a top quality youngster!

Transfers: Villarreal is active for Haissem Hassan (Châteauroux, Ligue 2)
Haissem Hassan under the jersey of Châteauroux. (F. Faugère / The Team)

Haissem Hassan under the jersey of Châteauroux.

The Spanish club has formulated a new offer for the attacking midfielder of Châteauroux (Ligue 2). The two clubs are closing in on an agreement.

One week before the end of the transfer window, winger Haissem Hassan (18) is still in Châteauroux (Ligue 2). An unlikely situation for a player coveted by solid European clubs and that the Berrichonne has not used since the resumption.

The international U17 (generation Kouassi, Aouchiche ...) had until then come up against the principle position of his training club, which had granted him an exit voucher for several months, for 2 M € and 20% on resale . Requirements which, despite the health crisis, had not changed. Until recently.

Villarreal's latest offer seems to seduce Châteauroux

Villarreal has made several offers. The last (the amount has not filtered), received in recent hours, seems to satisfy the Berrichonne. The agreement was not found, but on the side of the Spanish leaders, optimism reigned. In addition, Lille, via its “satellite” club of Boavista, sent a proposal of € 1.2 million. Just like Brentford (Championship), € 1.2 million + € 300,000 bonus and Fiorentina (€ 900,000). As it stands, Villarreal is on pole.

Whether or not this young man arrives at Brentford, it is truly amazing just how much the club are now prepared to pay for our 'B' Team recruits. This is only the latest example of recent expensive signings, or attempted signings.
B team recruit today first teamer tomorrow. Sold for 10 times what we bought him for the day after.

Interesting, wonder if we'll go back in with another offer?

If we go back in for this guy id be surprised if he’s for the B team. Looks like a potential Benhrama mk2. Would imagine he’d be a jDS type signing, eased into the first team with the odd appearance for the B team..

That would not appear to be what is in the mind of lille, Monaco, or Villa Real so doubt it is for us. Still it would be good to find out either way.

Official | Villarreal sign Haissem Hassan from Châteauroux
Spanish side Villarreal on Friday announced the signing of 18-year-old attacking midfielder Haissem Hassan from Ligue 2 club Châteauroux for an undisclosed fee believed to be above €2m.

Brentford, Lille and Fiorentina had all been in negotiations to sign the player, but Unai Emery’s side won out.

The French U17s international has signed a 4-year contract with the La Liga club.
