Very much Early Doors but let’s hope he fulfills his promise next season

Good cameo. Look forward to hopefully seeing much more of him next season (and ideally in the flesh rather than via a TV screen).

What is our plan for him? Frank seems to only want to use him as one of a front two which he uses as a last resort. Will he get a run in Benrahma's position?

I think thats his natural position rather than up top. Be interesting if we try Mbeumo into the 9 position

Thought he should have been brought on after 65 minutes - Watkins had no support or service all night
and we needed a second man upfront. My only real complaint about Thomas was that he asked far too much
of Watkins for the last six games and we paid for it.

The cameos I've seen....probably the same basis posters who say he looks promising

Still think he's a bit away, but he has a bright future. Has shown good signs. He has a bit of a tenacity that I quite like.
Agree, and I like his attitude to get stuck in and fight for the ball.
We need that!

I like this guy, he appears to have a similar sh*thousery score to Maupay.

He will be great. Next season he will smash it IMO.

Agree re Thomas and Watkins but he should have also got Benrhama to stay out wide , where early in the season he was causing lots of teams problems

What role is Halil going to play this year. Up top is clearly Toney with Forss as back up and TF hasn't played Halil wide at any point yet..

Looked good in brief cameos after lockdown.I personally would see him in front of MF in the pecking order. Looks to have a bit of the Maupay devil in him and might form a nasty front two option with IT

It's about options. Forss is very much a centre forward; Toney seems that he buzzes around more, possibly more interchanging as he develops the understanding with the other attackers; Dervişoğlu has previously played off a centre forward, on the left, so it's possible he can be more interchanging, he does appear to have brilliant close control so picking up the ball deeper and running in with it.

Of course, I could be imagining all of that.

I would like to see more of him, before he joined I was following his goals and assists at Sparta. Coming on for the last 10 or 15 minutes doesnt help him or give us a chance to assess him. He gets an international call up which is great, but I wish he was starting against Wycombe on Sunday

Yeh he looked v good for Sparta. I’m surprised we haven’t tried him on the wing at all, he’s very good on the ball and had excellent dribbling stats in Holland..

I think you’ve based your analysis on the evidence we’ve been presented with, so far. No doubt about the lads skills and attitude in my mind.

Probably suffered for game time last season as he could not realistically displace any of our three main forwards who seemingly could not be dropped in the end. It won't be quite the same this season (at least to start with) so he should get his chances to shine..

Once we signed him I tuned into a couple of games he was playing for Sparta and for Turkey U21s to see what he was like. He played centrally in all those games and I thought he was excellent. Quick with good movement, great first touch, good dribbling and an eye for goal. The only thing missing was perhaps the physicality which is maybe why we haven’t see a huge amount of him yet.

I think with 3 games a week, instead of having him on the bench for all 3. Start 1 expecting Sergi to come on after an hour. But if Halil is playing well see if he can finish the game too

I thought he came on during one of the lockdown games and played on the right.

Suspect Thomas will rotate front three a tad more this season to keep them as fresh as possible and give opponents more to think about when playing us. Same probably can be said of the advanced midfield roles . Less rotation with Christian and the back four unless injuries or suspensions intervene

Christian is going to be knackered. He's on for 46 games unless a Kamo replacement is signed.

we don't need a Kamo replacement we need someone a bit more like Christian! (not an easy ask given it's taken us years to find him.... )

Did not arrive until January. What with Covid he has not had much opportunity to displace anybody let alone one of the BMW.

Kamo was a bloody good player. Not Christian though I'll give you that.

Expect he'll get minutes against Southampton. He disappeared for a bit in pre-season so wonder if he had a knock and is playing catch up like Baptiste and Said?

Yep, looking forward to seeing him get a run at Southampton. I think he's got a chance of becoming a regular contributor for us....

Shame he didn't get longer yesterday, but thought he was busy and energetic in what was never going to be a day for him to shine with creativity and goalscoring.

Yes, there were a couple of occasions when I felt if he had a bit more experience with us he’d have scored. Given the opportunity he looks a great prospect.

Looks like a battle royale with Toney, Forss and possibly Dervisoglu. Who will be the winner come the end of the season? Will be interesting. Also as top scorer we need to include Bryan, and possibly Sergi.

Thought he looked good last night and showed some good touches. A better through ball from at one point would have had him away free in their half as he'd stayed onside and was a few yards clear of his marker.
Looking forward to see this guy develop and contribute

Yeah, when he got through and needed to hit it early on his left...he didn't have the confidence to do so and cut back onto his right...and the chance was gone.
