According to this article, Trabzonspor and Besiktas are in for Halil but he wants to stay at Galatasaray.. Brentford have supposedly said they will sell..

To be fair to Halil we have to take this with a pinch of salt, the Turkish media are very unreliable and talk a lot of nonsense.

Just because he’s hardly played for us doesn’t mean he doesn’t have value on the basis of the 100+ top division games he’s played at 22 and the 5 goals in 10 international appearances. Pretend he had never signed for us and was today being rumoured as a target. Would £7m seem very expensive when players with a single season in the Championship are being touted at three to four times that?

We should be able to fetch a decent fee for him; Turkey international, only 22, has played in Eredivisie, Championship and the biggest club in the Süper Lig already.
He was either bought knowingly as an asset for us to trade, not to be an actual Brentford player, or he and his agent simply duped BFC and signed the deal with us for the money - with no intention of playing for us. Remember he stayed in Holland for 6 months after signing, and then a loan move to Turkey materialised in the press before he even got here.
When he has been here in those brief spells I doubt he’s impressed Frank. Some of the “on the ball” stuff is amazing but he doesn’t do the running off the ball or (probably) in training.
We’ve made the best of the situation IMO, extracting loan fees for him and seeing his value continue to rise from what we originally paid for him. It’s frustrating as a fan, because it would be great for him to just come back and be an incredible player for us in the PL. Hope I’m wrong but think it’s incredibly unlikely.

Give him a chance! He has not once indicated that he wants to play for us. He attempted to even put off coming even before he arrived. I am sure that we have now given up on flogging a dead horse!

He has been involved in 4.
Hardly a CV plus point as he hardly looked like he was going to rip it up like other signings did and on that note I seriously believe he would be way out of his depth in the Premier League .
I could be wrong too,but I don't see any clubs trying to prise him off us here in the UK.
I trust we are at least getting a decent loan fee for him and if we carry on for another 2 years then he could sign for Galatasary for nothing.

Yes they have been a bigger club than us.
They have Championships and cups etc.
We are in the biggest league on the planet.
They are in a league with Besiktas and Fenerbache.
Turkish club football is not that much tbh.

I think that's a bit of a stretch - comparing Halil's progression against Salah & De Bruyne. Maybe a better comparison would be the dozens of players who Chelsea have loaned out who were never heard of again?
But if he appears in a top 6 PL team in the future scoring goals for fun then feel free to bump this post to show how silly I was...
I don't agree, because Halil compares more with those two than others, because he's a regular international as they were, of a similar age, whilst a vast majority of others from Chelsea are not. So you compare as near like for like as you can. I doubt Halil will end up anywhere near what they are achieving, but there is a risk in all these deals.
In a league where there is a premium on athleticism before you can even use what skills you have, do we think Halil's lacklustre loping running style and reluctance to defend from the front is even an option? I am afraid not. There are some players (like a Fosu) who are good when you can dominate the ball and intensity is not so necessary, and Halil is one of them. He has his flaws as a player as every player on our books does - but I think this goes well beyond that.
There’s a decent player there. He just hasn’t ever seemed to want Brentford to be his permanent home, and we have never pursued that as a serious option either.
Of course I have no doubt we will sell for the right fee.
It makes me feel bad writing it- I don't like criticizing players. But whenever I have watched him I have been far from whelmed and totally puzzled as to how he would fit in.

Always felt like there is a decent player in there but he’s not going to make it with us so let’s get a decent fee and move on.
