I thought the way he clapped the fans as he went off suggested he was thinking he might be saying goodbye.
Some can’t do right for doing wrong. I’m sure he used to be criticised for looking sullen and not really celebrating much even when he scored. Now, clapping the fans, who he’s had next to no opportunity to play in front of or build a relationship with is a sign of him waving goodbye?

I wasn't criticising him, nor have I done so in the past. I was just a bit surprised to see him to turn to each side of the ground and clap. I may be reading something into which wasn't there.

Almost certainly the biggest stumbling block here.
All up front if the club decide to sell to this team. May not get the rest otherwise.

Some of the highlights yesterday show what Halil can do, it up to the coaches to get it out of him. 🤔

Watch the highlights of last night. He was actually pretty good

Views differ on this but I thought he was considerably better than Forss. My son and I wanted him to stay on and go up top in place of the latter, but everything points to him moving on, if not now then soon. If he wasn't I think he would be getting more of a look in.

£6m?

Where are my car keys?
If there is any truth in it, its €6m not £s in 3 installments over 3 years with speculation that we may not see years 2-3 as there's a reasonable risk they may go belly up as they are carrying so much debt without a realistic plan of how to clear it.

Agree that Forss did little of note beyond his goal but Dervis needs to be stronger with his back to goal and work harder to press defenders if he is ever going to be turned into a 9.

Halil has moments of skills which show up in the highlights but his lack of movement and work rate stops him making his mark with us beyond that

I've not been his biggest fan but he did very well in some patches last night and showed excellent skill in tight areas and some pace over a few yards...not sure he will get much time to show it this season but imo he was much better than forss

Like Real Madrid and Barca, these type of clubs will always be bailed out.

All European transfers are spread out over the course of the player’s contract, we’ve done the same for years.

I was having the same conversation with my son, felt sorry for him coming off and it didn't feel a fair decison.

Forss refuses to challenge for any arial balls which drives me nuts, however he can score a goal and that is why we gave him a 5 year contract. Vibe, Gray and Hogan were the same, good players and goalscorers but just let the defenders have free headers all day long, half the time they don't even make a token jump to affect the defenders view. Drives me mental. Just standing back watching it or doing that weird scuffling thing up against a defender without jumping hoping these professional ball headers are going to suddenly start missing it.

Thank god for Ivan Toney, it adds so much to the team when the defenders have to fight for every header and when you win a few and set Bryan and Sergi free on goal.

I'm sure it was Marco Djuricin who also never challenged for any arial balls. He would have a quick look at where the centre back was then deliberately barged into him as the ball was approaching.

I think most know that, it is just that in this case many eye the prospective purchaser, and wonder if he has the funds available to keep paying the instalments.

Like I wrote, it doesn’t matter as the club will always be bailed out.

Seeing rumours (nothing at all concrete) circulating that Haili has travelled to Turkey today to sign for Galatasaray.

I'm still holding out hope this isn't true, seems a colossal waste of potential.

Personally not to bothered if we can replace . Hasn’t settled with us and let’s face it he’s never going to play regularly. Sign another hopefully that will threaten the first 11.

If we do move him on he will have been replaced already.

So we may hope, however, we live in strange times, and the whole club may just get swallowed up in the general Turkish malaise when the entire shooting works goes bust.

The “Thomas talks” on the BFC website seem to imply Halil is not off.

I think it’s something to do with playing to your strengths

I think it's unlikely.. He's got talent and something a little different to what we have elsewhere in the squad. Equally Galatasaray seem like the only interested party and clearly can't afford him regardless of how many tweets they put out about him..

If like they are trying to make it happen through the power of positive thinking and suggestion.
Absolutely bizarre.

I take it you didn't see our second goal, scored by Mbeumo from Thompson's cross...

He will try to get on the end of a cross but are you saying that the one attempted header you point out means that the other 30-40 headers per game he makes no attempt to jump or compete for don't exist or matter?

Just pointing out the terminological inexactitude of your « refuses » in your statistical analysis.

Not only can't afford it, I would not trust them or their Turkish bankers one inch, and Devisoglu would not leave the UK until every penny of the fee was safely in my Bank. The whole shooting works is bankrupt.

Halil wants to go to Gala.. but another team in Turkey has made a better offer with other offers from Italy and Holland. Article also mentions that Halil is not training well due to the speculation around him.

This endless saga could do with ending, though I of course understand we want what he is worth.

If he is not training well I can’t see Thomas putting him on the bench like he has been he wouldn’t be anywhere near the bench....I like what I have seen of him and hopefully he will show that over the season

Best for both parties if he goes. Decent player but it's cannot see him fitting into our system. Hopefully we can cash in and re-divert funds into other areas of the squad where we need to bring players in. Halil is not going to happen at Brentford imo, just one of those things.

According to Turkish sources (not the rubbish ones) Fener joined the negotiations.

Also Gala is on the verge of selling Mohamed to Bordeaux. +5m euros profit after they activate the buy option from Egyptian club then sale to France. So they might come with an improved offer.

Turkish Journo says that Halil to Fenerbace is done..

The idea of us selling him to their biggest rivals should get Galatasaray back to the negotiating table with their best offer pretty sharpish 😄

I think Turkey's transfer window has another week to go, so this wouldn't have to be wrapped up today

Hopefully this is just usual Turkish media nonsense as this makes no sense. We lose him for the season, get no money now, have no time to replace him, and if he does well then we can’t up the price, if he does badly then we end up with a player who’s value has decreased.

We are renowned for having no idea on transfer policy 🤣🤣🤣
