@football_league: TV SELECTION: Hartlepool United v Brentford has been selected for live coverage by @SkySports on Saturday 20th April (5.20pm KO) #TVgame

This isn't good news to those that have bought train tickets already. The worry about moving the match to a Sunday, due to fixture congestion, was abated, now Sky have chosen this fixture to air live. With those having tickets for trains around 6pm, this is a headache and are going to have problems transferring them, if at all possible? There aren't any trains back to London after 6pm either.

Feel for those that have spent hundreds of pounds already on tickets etc. this isn't good for Bees supporters.

Great news for those who haven't booked tickets. Will Jeff Stelling be presenting?

Now how about that special guys.... maybe not for Crewe but what about Hartlepool, one way maybe (thus using your original tickets up and special back)..
With only one direction needed, might be cheaper..

I know it would be asking a lot of the club but couldn't they now use the sky cash to fund free coaches a la shef utd and even if its not posible to do that for evertone at least do it for the supporters who have already paid for a ticket ( not me by the way so this is not motivated by self interest )

What!? No trains back after 6!? That's crazy!

Last train is 18:15 which also involves 2 changes and returning at 22:22. So watch one half and listen on way home to the second half. :mad2:

What a nightmare. Especially as you cannot, normally, transfer train tickets to another train/day/time. :(

The football club has funded the Sheffield United coaches already, twice now, without receiving the Sky money for the original fixture, which was being used to pay for it. It's a tough call for the club, and the supporters, as to what to do.

Does sound a bit of a silly decision and hope something is laid on for people who have already purchased tickets.

I don't want to ruin the current mood of this thread, but I'm relatively happy I get to see the game now. Just gutted for people who have already bought tickets and planned ahead.

How much is the coach? Could be an option for the guys with train tickets who still want to go. Try and get coach back?

Might work out cheaper than hotel overnight?

This is really sh*t, we plan our away stuff in advance but were planning a weekend up there so no tickets for trains bought yet as the car was going to be the option. All you poor feckers who have got train tickets and rooms etc have my sympathy.

Feel sorry for fans who have train tickets but this could be good news for the team as we will know exactly where we stand at kick off and what needs to be done

Do we get TV money for this?

If so I hope the club will put that money into free coaches for those who can prove they bought a train ticket?

Just a thought.

Our tickets are non refundable for the way back (purely because we decided to print our own tickets and not have them posted?), so it's either miss the game or have another overnighter in the North East and book another fare at our expense.
Or the coach at our expense.
This will be a big game either way, and it's a big shame if this means the attendance is poor.
Imagine if we clinched promotion and the players are celebrating in front of 100 fans..... The club surely want to step in and help the fans here. They know what they need to do.

Bottom line is the club doesn't care about supporters..Just called the ticket office and asked who will refuned part of my rail ticket bought based on information provided by the football club (company) and thay said thay didn't know, but perhaps Sky. I am furoius as this has happened before...

But it wouldn't be 100 fans would it. If we need something to go up we will take as many as we are allowed

That's rubbish. The club does care. Unfortunately, SKY tv control football now, not the football clubs.

The club have supported its own supporters with the 'pay what you can' initiative, cheap entrance to home matches for kids and adults v Carlisle, free travel to Sheffield United, twice, and other deals within the shop and not forgetting the ST holders who pay less to get into every game. ;)

There's also the covering bit, with regards changes to the fixture list, in the terms and conditions..... :grey:

It is highly frustrating, but its not the clubs fault and they have already highlighted that.

Once the football league and sky choose a match, then there is little the club can do.

Your best bet is to contact the football league themselves to vent anger and/or frustration. Second game to be moved for sky tv which does not benefit anyone at all.. too early a kick off for Sheffield united game, now too late for Hartlepool.

For the grand old cost of a £40 admin fee , eg £10 per ticket I have managed to change our rail tickets to 1120 up Saturday and back Sunday morning . Just the excitement of an overnight stay in Hartlepool to add to the now£92.50 rail fare . Thanks Sky !
